I talked to Jim B last week he told me all the cores where ordered and should be ready for the machine shop by jan 10th at that point they think they'll machine 1 to 1.5 blocks a day so hopefully the guys that had their deposits in early should see blocks by mid jan.
Yeah, at this point, the plan is for the foundry to pour blocks during the christmas /newyears week. I know water jacket cores were picked up today. The machine shop is scheduled for the 10th of jan to machine. Not much longer befor we start seeing some of this :3gears: Still waiting for a few more payments to come in, that is not holding things up, just wanting everyone with money down to be in this first run. Really, this is not just something that we can go to the foundry after the run and say, oh, 3 more please, and then in another week, oops, 2 more guys. Once things get scheduled , we need to try to keep as much on target as possible. Jim Burek
Congrats on the block, guys!! It'll be awesome to see the big power your Buicks will make (and stay in one piece). I'd love to have one for my big block Olds.
Danie heard that the blocks are being machined. I am not sure if all were poured first or they do a few at a time. Either way heard sometime mid February they will be ready to be picked up :TU: I would assume that you and Rod are #1 on the "must have in my hands" lists. I hope I am right with that one. You guys have your work cut out getting the new engine together in your "new" ride Have a safe trip east when you pick up the car. Hell if the weather is nice I will be dragging Doug Hecker to Atco, NJ for some test and tuning on my car. Looking for some 9'teens. Oh and I may be borrowing a power shot kit...just in case I do get that low number, I may decide to give her a slight push into the 8's ....I hope....just once...I swear and then I'll remove the kit.
Rick I hate to do this in an open forum but if you spray it and run an 8. I will call you a liar if you tell me you will be taking it off. . :TU:
LOL Doug doesn't want me to do it. He told me he's bringing a large shovel and 5 gallon bucket....what a pal ou: Just once Bob...honest... so I can say I got there. Only would spray it if the car runs in the mid teens or lower. Otherwise I can't see it getting me there. Plus I have to try out that new chute on the car.
Powershot is just a 125 shot. You may get a real 100 out of it. A couple/4 degrees and you'de be ok. Really don't think you would need it full on. Attack the front and get er' rolling..............let the motor pull you through. :Brow: Later................ ps- get to a teen and your gonna spray to the number. wouldn't that just kill you knowing you had to do it that way, for the first time ???? HAHAHAHA
I saw somewhere that a few will be delivered to the Norwalk Buick race day and that there might even be one running there :Brow: D.
We (Doug Hecker, John Csordas and myself) got ours through Finishline Performance. (thanks Geof :TU: ) . None of us plan on having one ready this year, so we figured we would pick them up a Norwalk. We still are interested on those 55mm cam blanks. Little birdie flying around told me that Rod is trying to get one together and running in their "new" car for Norwalk. I hope this info is true, would really love to see some Buick history set down that week!
Rick, while I'm sure Geof appreciates the plug you gave his business, I'm sure he'd appreciate it even more if you got the name right, just in case anyone reading your post wants to find him and buy a block or some other Buick engine parts. It's Finishline Motorsports. You squid.
