What about that yard in Arizona?? I think the ad says over 40 acres of Buicks?? Anyone been there?? Ronnie
Mike, where is that Riv? Dale in Mnpls needs the hood and trunk lid. The guy here wanted about $600 for the pair.
It is! :eek2: I've always thought it would be cool to put a '68-'69 clip on my '70. But to go the other way? Hey Mike, Is that yard in Cedar Rapids? I'm heading to Waterloo tonight were my Mother in Law lives. That might give me something to do on Sat. Usually pretty boring sitting around listening to Lynn and her Mother yak, yak, yak. :boring:
That yard is in Marshalltown, IA. It's about an hour drive from here or Waterloo. At a place called Hogeland Body http://www.hogelandautoplaza.com/ 1-641-752-0027 They also have 2 or 3 71-73 Rivs, and a few 64-65's last time I was there. Mike
If I lived there I think I'd be there every weekend! All I can say is :jd: That is a freakin gold mine!
I hate watching these cars and parts waste away. The worst thing is going somewhere you haven't been in about 10 years and seeing all the same stuff. Now it is in unuseable condition and the price has gone up, WTF? I'm not looking forward to seeing this stuff 10 years from now. At the prices some of these Boneheads charge they need to be storing it a bit better because it aint going anywhere.
Tell me about it. These guys seem to get more gratification knowing they have something you want, but can't afford, than they do out of actually selling it and getting money for it. It's really a perverted mentality.
The first thing these guys do is take the hoods off. For no other reason than to expose the motors to the elements?
There are so many parts in this yard that used to be good but are now worthless pieces of garbage rusting into the ground.
There's a yard here that doubles as an impound yard. They impound these cars for 30 days, then buy them at teh police auction to sit around and rot. The last time I went in there, there was a Buick Regal with a 307 and a V-6 "powered" 84 Delta 88. They were side by side, and both were GORGEOUS! The guy said that the charging system was bad on the delta, and the regal had a knock. I started the regal up and it was just a bad rocker. Checked out the delta, ran over to another one for the alternator, hooked it up, and it fired on the 2nd crank. Both drove like a dream. grr...
Hey David, I have a 15x7 trunk wheel for you. I will take some pics later and post them for ya to see. It isn't perfect but its free if you pay the shipping...
Here is the pic of the wheel I got. I never cleaned the thing up as you can see. Also on the back of the wheel someone written in chalk 'bent'. I don't know why they written that since I don't see any damage to the wheel. If you want some more pics, let me know and I'll post them. Like I said it's yours if you want it. I guess shipping it via UPS would be somewhere in between 15 and 20 bucks.
I can't believe theres a Skyhawk laying around in a junkyard where you live and I can't even find one in all of southern Ontario.
Just read this thread for the first time. The photo in the original post shows a '61 Invicta bubbletop. Looks to me like it may be one of the very rare and desirable Invicta Customs with the bucket seat interiors.
