the longer arm has the hole for the bolt that goes into the upper AC bracket about 1/2-9/16" further away than the shorter version. The distance between holes, center-to-center, for the longer bracket is 12"

    IMG_7271.jpeg IMG_7272.jpeg IMG_7273.jpeg What am I missing?

Why do they make such subtle changes?
Anyone have a bracket that could sell me?

What's the part number on the adjusting brace?

Yes. Also, is your lower bracket steel or aluminum?

That top bracket looks funny. The bolt hole should be more in line with the slotted hole, not above it.

The electric terminals should be facing up - not inward.

    You should have
    1 - 1231871 - mounting bracket
    1 - 1385628 Adjusting bracket
    1 - 1387136 Compressor bracket
    1 - 1375052 Rear adaptor
    1 - 1365791 Front adaptor

If you have a '70 Assembly manual - all this is illustrated on page 6-6.4

You guys need to read the links from George I posted above. There are specific parts that work together. If you don't have the 3 pieces that match - No bueno!

Have you confirmed which lower aluminum Bracket you have there is a part number cast into it.
'70 Aluminum bracket (1231871) same for all v8Buick except Riviera (1381728).

The bracket is 11 3/4 . I don’t see numbers in the bottom bracket though I have a picture below. In regards to the terminals facing up it will put the oil reservoir at an angle; is that alright. Other pictures are posted in earlier posts. Thank you guys a lot - IMG_7289.jpeg IMG_7288.jpeg

Just a nit - I would put the ground cable on a bolt that goes into the block. Use a star washer too.

The terminals are set where they are in relation to the oil reservoir. If some one would

Will do. Any comments on the terminal location; if I put it at 12( facing up) the compressor oil reservoir will be at an angle

I changed the upper bracket to a 1970. I changed the alt to the longer one- both items are correct purchased from members. Could someone tell me :
Does the top bracket which bolts onto the intake bolt directly onto the intake or does it need washers to shim it up? IMG_7435.jpeg
Does the alternator bracket bolt into the 1/2 bolt hole next to the heater line - which is capped off- in the picture?
Does the rear compressor bracket sit on the inside of the slotted area as in the picture?
This pulley on the compressor- purchased from oriely line up. Any assistance would be appreciated as this is getting rather annoying.

To clarify the alternator bracket will bolt into one of the bolt holes of the water pump….
