the omc v6 timing cover leaves a few things to consider about it. it does not have casting material for a by-pass hose. big blank.
the 2 upper, (water) t/c bolts holes on either side are not there because they are not drilled and have some lack of casting material.
the lower part casting that the oil pan bolts to, sticks out past the pan a wee bit.
the t/c casting has a mark that relates to a drill/tap a cam bump stop area. i will have to do it to adjust to cam in/out tolerance.
the dizzy hole is a little tighter than the alum ones. i know this one won't stretch.
one thing i would like to is WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING.........

i drilled the undrilled holes. only issue is excess material around holes which makes a hex head useless. barely got one capscrew in. the other
i would have to machine casting away. undone, no bolt, no leaks needed.
oil pump gear hole is fine, o/p is up where we are normally at.
i used one dem new fangled brass/alum dist gears for the dizzy. will check later on to see if there is any issues.
maybe electric is a better choice........

a nice update for wear issues.
going to change to a slightly bigger cam. i pulled the dizzy out and i did put a bronze gear on it. i guess the cast iron timing cover is the trick for me
and gear wear. no wear on the gear at all. could be the water trick, but i doubt it. lol

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Maybe the new cover is leaking water internally and dripping down into the Pan?

Just a thought, better than a cracked block.

not going to worry about water issue. not used any more. dizzy wear was the big problem. and the alky issue seems to be calling me. lol
