It is a one owner car. OD is 81,780 miles. Condition is fair to good. It was last on the road in June of 2018 but started and ran using fresh gasoline a few months ago. With a bit of tune up work the car should run ok. I guess that you could call this car a garage find but it is priced below its value. Don't see any body rust at all. Metalwork is not rusted, all chrome parts there, glass all in place and sound, chrome not rusted, taillight lenses good but there is one ding on the rear bumper. With some body work, tires, upholstery, paint and detail restoration this vehicle can make a great collectible or it can be completely restored by a hobbyist for cruise night fun.
Linky not working. Try this: https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/seattle-1966-buick-skylark/6869529521.html
This looks all right & probably wouldn't take to much to get it road worthy, Is there any one that lives close by that could get the guys number for me . That's only if know one else is following it up, Thanks
Is there anyone in Seattle that would be able to contact the seller or look at this 66 skylark for me , I would be happy to pay for your time etc . I rung the guy but had to leave a message hopefully he rings me back . Can be a bit difficult for me as I live in New Zealand but can organize everything with pick up & shipping. I already have 71 GS bought from a v8buick member and I'm looking at doing a project one with my son (but not to big a project though..ha..ha ) this looks like a good start .
Darryn, from the pictures I can see that car has some significant rear window rust. You can see it in one picture to the far left side of the car. I seem to recall that was a big issue for you during inspection in your country.
It's still there, the first link was deleted because they listed it in the wrong place. Look at Walt's post oh, it has the correct link
Yeah I saw that , I wonder how bad it is . In his add he is stating no body rust ? (Metal work is not rusty) It would be nice to see some better pictures
I tried calling the guy again & left another message but haven't had a reply. Probably need someone local to call him & check it out , it would be awesome to get some more photos & find out a little more about the 66 buick
Hi Bob , would you be able to contact the guy for me or send me his mobile number, I would be keen to follow this one up .. thanks
I called the guy (Dennis). He is in NJ, car is in Seattle. It is an estate sale, I think he said it was his mom's car? She was 94 and recently passed away. House is sold and they have a little while to get it cleared out, mostly what is left is the car (and that fancy push mower, lol). It is kind of a complicated deal, since they aren't with the car. They are going to send the keys to a local attorney, and then you would go and see the attorney and get the keys from him, and then go see the car, bring the keys back to attorney, etc. He figures it will be a week or two before that gets all set up. In the meantime, no one with the car to take more pictures, check for back window rust, etc. Didn't ask him about a title, but my guess is if they do have it, there will be some paperwork required as the lady likely didn't sign it before passing away. He is taking names and phone numbers to call back once they get things setup with an attorney. Says I am about 10th on the list. Will report back if I hear back from them.
Wow what a great story, not so good his mum past away though but 94 is very impressive . Sounds like it's one of those buys if you get the keys or you are successive in viewing the car you would just buy it right then & there ! It's a shame you couldn't just have a look at the car and take the gamble and pay the guy before anyone else got there hands on it . Lucky it's not a stage 1 or something as he would have more then 10 people on his list to call back .. man half the fun in finding these cars is hearing the stories and the fun of the find.. great work man thanks for time I really appreciate it , hopefully you get a call back or someone close to the car .. very cool.. regards Darryn
Dennis called me this morning, said it might be possible for me to see it sooner than later...... I played phone tag, we'll see what he has to say.
