He's a Gentleman & a Scholar, thank you for your time & help inspecting the 66 you did an awesome job .
It's on the wrong coast for me, unfortunately... This is a great car! There are so many directions you could go with it. If it were me I'd probably recover the front seat, detail the rest of it, and drive the wheels off if it. You could turn it into a cool vintage drag car. You could do a partial resto or a restomod. You could do a frame-off, or anything you wanted. It has such a head start because of no rust. And that frame and undercarriage...a rare sight around here! $3500 is a great price but you could probably buy it with $2800.
It is on the right coast for you, the rust free coast! $1200 - $1500 for shipping is still way cheaper than buying the same car in MD and dealing with rust.
After all the effort Harold put out, seems the least that he should get is a bottle of his favorite brown or clear liquid.
Chocolate Milk?? The car looks pretty solid and it's a non a/c car which is a plus. How was the chrome and trim as far as pitting goes?
LOL! Chocolate milk!? C'mon man! It was a hot day out there! You know I didn't really pay attention to the chrome as much as I should have, was concentrating on the rust and stuff. I'm still in touch with the owner, he's sending me the correct ( I hope ) keys that I will swing by on the way to work and put in the lock b0x. At that time I'll open the trunk and get pics of the trunk, and look at the trim abit closer for you guys& gals. He seems disappointed that I didn't buy it, although I was upfront about kicking the tires for 71 GS and the board. Now he's gotta start going through the list of callers and he's hesitant to give the code out to just anybody. Well he trusted me I guess, I suppose I could meet up with potential buyers.
I went and got this ol' girl to it's new home today. I showed the pics to my Chiropractor, he said SOLD! The owner had sent me the correct keys, never seen them before. Very small, not like the GM keys I'm used to. So we were able to get in the trunk......ZERO RUST! This car is the cleanest survivor I've seen, and my wifes '70 is pretty darn nice! He spent a couple minutes with a rag and some spit on the grill and trim around the headlights, sparkled like new! And I noticed the high beams are T3's. ( I'm not sure of the big deal about T3's, but have noticed alot of threads about them! ). It turned over with ease, after sitting for a year or more. I noticed the fuel filter was dry, and figured the fuel pump was bad . It was. Funny thing, it's a one year only pump. He's got one ordered... I'm gonna regret not taking this one home, but it'll be well taken care of!
