That's great news I had a feeling that he would be into negotiating with a v8buick club member car enthusiast.

Yes I just got off the phone, he is going to send me the keys and I'll be able to give it a good look for you. I'll take a bunch of pics, and let you know. Should be later next week?! Keys will be coming from NJ so we'll be waiting on the Post Office.......
I will be on top of it for you!!

Wow !! That's amazing , so clad he was able to put alot of trust in you . Thank you for your time I really appreciate it , if the battery is ok see if you can turn the motor over. I think i read somewhere they had it going some months ago with fresh gas, but I might just have to take the gamble on that one as that may be asking to much. Hopefully the Buick is in good shape not to rusty! I'm more than happy to pay you or any additional cost that pops up . Thanks regards Darryn

He did say it had current tabs, so it might have been run in the not so long ago......
I'll do my best to get it running as well....

Good afternoon Sir Bob , If the 66 works out for me I might want to source out some parts for it like a rear bumper or what ever it needs that I can load in the car ..any places come to mind in the Seattle area or Oregon?

I figured I'd put out an update for anyone watching this thread, but certainly for Darryn!
I've been watching the mailbox for the keys, and haven't seen them. I got a text from Dennis ( owner in NJ ) this morning, they are going in the mail today, Friday. That should put them in my hands before next Thursday the 9th...
I have Thursdays and Fridays off, but I cleared Thursdays schedule as I do NOT want to deal with Seattle Friday traffic!! So hopefully the keys will be here by then!
    More to come!

Thank you for the update, hopefully one day the keys turn up..lol . I have had another opportunity come my way but I was not willing to share as it's a Ford falcon, this is something my Dad & I are doing together as he is getting old like really old & I want him to enjoy something special as he has been looking forward to it. The car just popped up last night so its along way off yet. If the Falcon doesn't work out I'm still very keen on 66 Buick & I'm willing to help in anyway I can .. kind regards Darryn NZ

Na na , The Australian ones are super rare they made stuff all compared to the USA.
    It's just a standard 302 Futura 2 door.

Ok. I took a trip to visit the '66 Skylark. It's a steal at the price. In my opinion of course!
71GS has given me the go ahead to let everyone get a crack at it.
The car is as you would expect Gramma's car to look. Interior is awesome, no smoke butts in the ashtray!
I would have started it ,but the keys ( new ) weren't cut properly. That also means I couldn't get in the trunk. ( Yeah, I know ). I did jack it up, no obvious under trunk issues, the car was nicely under-coated.
    The fluids all looked great,
It was obviously under repair before the sale, seems to have new : radiator, hoses, battery, cap wires and plugs.
Windows and doors operate like butter!! I mean nice!
The bump in the ass end was a good one, Buckled the rear quarter panel a bit. Didn't seem to really get into the frame.....
I'm gonna try to post pics, I've not had good luck with that lately....
If you need pics I can email them easy.....
My opinion, if I didn't have 4 projects already I would have driven it home today,
Full disclosure, I have zero $$ interest in this car. Just helping my Buick Brothers out! Better buy it quick, my Ford buddy who went with me was almost ready to pull the trigger!!
