Preliminary body work on doors is done and first coat of poly is on. These doors were solid, but are littered with dings.
Fenders are primed and will be ready for the first blocking in a few days. Doors are blocked and ready for the last coat of high build (hopefully). I started blocking the body shell while I waited for other things to dry...found a couple small spots to correct, but nothing major so far.
Body is almost finished blocking...fenders and doors are curing for the last round of blocking. Only a couple more steps until color!
I have a pic of that GSX somewhere. He had it at a show in Charlotte back in early 2K or maybe even late 90's and I was amazed at its rarity. I think it was at this show with Jarvis. . Larry_jarvis by Ken Mild posted Aug 17, 2018 at 10:14 AM
Sorry, I've been too busy to post a few photos, as promised. I don't want to take away from your rebuild thread. Perhaps, I might start a new thread, titled, "Where Are They Now?" We had a chapter of the Buick Gran Sport Club of America named the B.C. Buick GS Club, and our chapter was very involved in many club events since its inception in the late 80's. One of the annual events, our club participated in, was The Vancouver Motorsport Car Show. Armin's 1972 GSX was in one of the shows and won a trophy in its class. In fact, our club took home a number of trophies with the Buicks we had on display. I would have to look back at my newsletters from the time for more details, as I regularly contributed articles for our newsletter. Nando.

Hosed off a few key spots on the car today to get rid of residual dust, and did the same to the garage. There was about 2" of...whatever...on the floor under the car that had collected since it got here. Guide coat is applied and ready for final sand...
Not much to see, looks pretty much the same. Body shell, doors, and fenders are prepped for paint. Installing doors tomorrow. Will probably wait until the weekend to paint though.
Doors are on! Definitely a two person job to adjust those things. I was dreading this. I'll be dreading the fenders just as much.
I sprayed some red paint its general direction today...some of it made it onto the car. I guess I need to start on the door and trunk...and the rest of the little bits.
Thanks! No it’s base/clear. It’s got some orange peel, but that’s to be expected. Gonna let it cure for a few weeks while I start the engine compartment, so I can install the front clip when it’s ready.
