With a custom crankshaft I remember a dirt track racer made it to 377ci. I don't remember what the bore was?
I want to stay with a stock crank, we figure .100 is the max we can go on the stock crank which will give me 370cid.
I might do that. I just assumed that someone on this board has done this, was looking for some info on how it worked for them. The good and the bad. Mainly the bad so I have an idea of what to avoid and or do differently.
It's getting stroked, set of Honda connecting rods, 20lb can of epoxy for the heads. I guess I'll find out how good or bad this is...
Yeah netted him 363 ci, he built it back before he knew about hardblock (sp?) or putting concrete in the block so he poured that plastic stuff that hardens (that plastic stuff that bugs are cast in so you can see em) into the block instead and it shrank haha. He said the cylinder walls were pretty thin at that point (hence why he doesnt understand why everyone thinks that you cant bore a 350 .060 over, he's gone .075 and been fine). Which at that point I dont know if the extra 3 ci is worth the risk of making the cylinder walls so thin.
Well I am going to try to stroke a stock crank to see how it works...then I will go from there. I have myself talked into the fact that it should work pretty well. Who knows??
How are you going to stroke the engine? All I've ever been told is that you cant or that if you can it'd be tough so I'm just curious, always wanting to learn as much as ya can
I read something in the "max performance Buick book" about bottom end interference/colliding?/o No: o No: Robert
There is some discussiion here about 350 not being a great stroker candidate. I recall the thread involved Rick Crawford. Try this one: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=121014&highlight=stroke+350
