Yeah.....too bad we cannot discuss these things that are so profoundly affecting our lives right now and in the future. And that includes our car hobby and motorsports in general......NO FANS at the Indy 500....really?.....if you can't social distance there....you can't do it anywhere. More aptly- why can't we just follow the rules and not start these kinds of threads? I'm sure there are all sorts of forums out there that are for strictly political and social issues.
None of this is strictly political or social.....it is much more than that right now....it is the future of my children and grandchildren that is at stake here...... Those other forums are not me and who i relate to and have things in common with.....it is my Buick brothers and sisters here that i want to have those conversations with......... I understand what you are saying and I have the same thoughts. The world is in a constant state of flux and not all change is what you want. Death and taxes is all we're guaranteed, right? All these threads do is create animosity between members. Little is gained by anyone. Your family is not safer because this thread exists nor is anyone else's. I'd also bet a cold beer not a single viewpoint has changed or even swayed. This simply isn't a medium that result in, well, anything. We ain't going to solve the world's problems on this site.
IMO YES. In this current state of fuckedupness, we all need each other. Everyone comes together as one at some point. Love thy neighbor.
