Hey Gary, I haven't been on the boards much since BG - did you tell everyone what your car ran? I was stoked when I witnessed your first 10 second pass late Friday night (with no lights on the track for some stupid reason), but your smile brightened up the entire track afterwards. Did you improve on it any Saturday? Congratulations again! :TU:
My old 68 GS 400 was never show worthy, but my future clone may be there next year (of course, in the "non-GS" class). My friend Patrick's legit 68 GS 400 hardtop would have been in the show if we had not had the oportunity to race early Friday due to the earlier rain. We 68 (and 69) guys aren't dead yet.
Doug, The Carolina's Chapter classifies the show cars. I will bring your concerns up at our meeting next month. We always recap what went well and what didn't. Thanks, John L.
Not like it would hve mttered much...but I wnted to enter my car in the race car div.- and got told no.....
Did they say why? You had a timeslip from Tuesday and Wednesday if I remember, and even if you didn't I believe we waived that requirement because the track had been closed so much.
Hey John- NO, and I did ask why, and got no answer...yes I had a timeslip....thats probably the biggest pisser about the whole thing...after they would not put me in racecar I put it somewhere (?) and now I cant find it....it was my best pass all week so I was gonna keep it There were super nice cars in all the classes though- I dont think placing in the show was the big deal- I am just highly modified under the hood and did not bring my good steel wheels....so I figured race car due to the mods and Weld wheels No worries though, it was way cool to have the only Platinum Mist car in the entire field!
