Not that I have one,but I thought I'd ask this question: What does your tow vehicle look like and what kind is it? I've seen some absolutely gorgeous tow vehicles at the various meets I've been to. Someday I'll have one(my personal choice would be a Duramax-either GMC or Chevrolet). Ken Lisk will be using his 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche to tow my Stage 1. He's got the 8.1 Vortec in it. Definately a cool truck!:TU:
What ever you buy, get a crew cab. You'll thank yourself later. Definately spring for a diesel. They've come a long way. These days you can hop 'em up just like the 5.0 Mustangs and Camaro's.
I got a 96 F-150 4x4 with a 302 and auto. It has 130,000 miles and still runs, not good or bad, but it runs. I don't have any pics of it, but my brother might.
03 Furd Excursion with Power Stroke diesel. Once you've had a diesel, you'll never go back. Oh, other tow vehicle is a 85 GMC 1 ton tilt-rollback with a 455 Stage 1. :Brow: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:
2004 GMC Sierra Crew Cab 2500HD, Duramax, Red only way to go! Maybe for sale after Feb 28th, 2005, if I decide to get another one! I don't know why the pic won't show up! I give up at the moment. Later!
'berta, If GM built a "Suburban" sized vehicle with a diesel, I'd own one. When, oh when are they going to fill the sizeable hole in their lineup?
Brad, I wish too, but supposedly, and this doesn't make since the Allison Trans that comes behind the Duramax won't fit the Suburban floor pan, and I would have thought the floor pans were the same. There is an engineering Suburban with a de-tuned tranny running around as a test vehicle with a fuel powered rear heater, but that's all that's out there at the moment. Another alternative for 'big' money would be a Duramax powered H2, but that's got the same floor pan problem as the Suburban, I think. R
I'm almost 99.9999999% positive either an H2 or a new H3 is about to be released with a Dmax/Allison. I am scheduled to test drive one in 2 weeks in Nashville at Opryland :Brow: JH:3gears:
Howdy No picks but last summer I inhereted Grandpa Leo's 1976 Suburban. 3/4 ton with the 454/400. It has made many trips across the USA to the tune of 300,000 miles!!!! Most of the time with a 32 foot travel trailer. The interior room is what I need since my 12 year old daughter is 5 ft 9!!!!! Mark
That was my orginal plan but it fell apart, somewhere along the line, was a '68 SW with a 455! JH, I think you might be right, the 2005 info is just now pouring out, and I haven't been able to keep up with it all, ya know, how it is! When I find it on the GM links, I'll post! R
Trucks are the "Safe Way " to insure your ride gets there without incedent................. DMAX ROCKS !!
