That was probably Dan Jensens T-37 w/eyebrow stripes. There is a '70 400 Magnum clone that Glasgows ran but don't know of any '72's. No T-37's in '72, LeMans was entry level in '72. Forgot that in '72 ALL 455HO LeMans had to have the endura nose. Not so in '71.
LS6 Vette Larry Weymouth will be bringing a 13,000 mile all original paint... LS6 vette to the fall race. Two falls ago a guy brought one also. It just did not run as well as possible. Mike Walligora brought his '69 L78 Camino last year. Anyone bring a 68 1/2 Cobra Jet yet or a 427 Cougar GT-E? Mark
Steve Hodges has 2 LS6 Vettes. One flawless, in orange, one nice driver in yellow. The yellow one has been at the fall race for the past two years. If I could swing it,the yellow one would be in my garage right now!
69 428ho Gp From Mr. Weymouth: "I was thinking of L-79 cars. I have been eyeing a Malibu with one. The other ones I can think of is 326/350 HO Firebirds, 428 HO Grand Prix, SS 454 Monte Carlo and a SS 396 L89 car vintage 1970." Thanks for mentioning. Pending funding, and that's a BIGGIE, I do plan to attend with my 69 GP, 428 HO, 4spd w/3.55s. How about a 70 or 71 402 Monte 4spd? From what I have studied, there were no 454SS Montes with stick, and no LS6 cars at all. I would love to see a 427 Cougar GTE!
The Green one was a 429 SCJ Ram Air Drag Pack clone......it will probably run mush faster next year. Poor guy was so disgusted with the car there was a for sale sign in it for Saturday's Shootouts. There were at least 2 L-79 cars there in Sept: Mine and a El Camino......
Stuff we have not seen.........YET! ZL-1 Vette 64 Hemi Mopar Early 70's Maverick Grabber or Comet GT 71 or 72 Heavy Chevy Chevelle 61 or 62 421 Poncho(Ventura,GP,Bonneville, etc.) I can think of a few other's we haven't seen that I won't mention at the moment :Brow:
Now that is more like it. :TU: No heavy model just a 300 2 dr sedan. :Brow: Hmmm. :Brow: Reminds me of another car or 2 like that. :spank:
for you Pontiac fans ........ ......... there was a link over on Yenko.net to some really neat SD 455 F-bird info. http://www.angelfire.com/mi/jamos1/sdtrivia.html Looks like one of those 'Birds might make a real strong pure stock -or- F.A.S.T. entry. :Brow:
How 'bout the Cutlass SXs? From 70-71 Here's a site for them www.sx455.com Maybe I can get some input from Dave H
