We had about a 200 car cruise in this morning. It is a mid 50s day here with 60s tomorrow. If the Canadians would contain their frozen air for just a few days, I think our Daffodils would bloom.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
    A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
    They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
    In such a jocund company:
    I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.

    William Wordsworth

That temp is off the scale. It warm here every other day but there is too much moisture to really enjoy it.

I think LEWIS BLACK the comedian has it right. We need to start a giant public works project and build a 100 foot high wall along the border of Canada because:

THATS WHERE ALL THE COLD AIR COMES FROM !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our thermometers down here stop at Zero F degrees.

Then I guess you'll never know what -10 degrees feels like:laugh:

Spent an hour on the garage floor last night re-attaching the muffler on my daily driver after one of the hangers broke. I ran the salamander heater for about an hour first, but it didn't do much to warm up the floor. Air temp was 8 degrees when I finished.

Just for the curious - digital car thermometers, including Rivieras, do show negative temperatures when they happen.

Winter can wear us down after a while, but it feels good to prevail over conditions that would leave some of our soft southern brethren with tears frozen to their tanned cheeks....

Wed, 11:30am, we are in the midst of a really bad ice storm.

Everything is coated with ice and I decided to take a walk in my circle. As I walked along large branches were loudly snapping and falling off 100ft pine trees.
I hot footed it back to my house and my wife showed me a large tree branch that fell off one of my trees, just missing the house and landing on my deck.
I have 69 mature trees on my property and these suckers are "BIG" !!!

I was just sitting on my front porch and off in the distance it sounds like hunters shooting shotguns, NOPE, it's the tree limbs snapping off the trees and crashing to the ground.

Power went out for a few minutes so now I have to reset everything, clocks, computers, cable, oven, timers for landscaping lights, etc, etc; etc !!!

Hope this crap ends without damage to my property.

Some white stuff is falling here now. Based on pictures I have seen on the internet, I think it is what you call Canadian snow. Ice is predicted tonight. Hatterass Island on the coast had 6 inches of snow which almost never happens. Time to prepare for stand by power generation.

It's been quite a winter this year!
Ice storm last week took my power out for 2 days, no power at work for 5 days.
2" of snow on Sunday while I was at the Blues Fest..... that was real cool since the music center overlooks the old blast furnaces of Bethlehem Steel.
8-12" of snow expected tonight through Thursday.... hoping it stays snow instead of turning into sleet or ice..... my trees are already hurting from last week.
Hoping for a snow day from work tomorrow so I can stay home and watch curling on the Olympics!
Feel bad for you folks down south getting hit by ice....best of luck to you all.

I don't care how much equipment and experience a region has with winter weather, when it comes to an ice storm, there isn't much you can do but pray the power doesn't go out or tree limbs come down on your house!
