60 degrees here yesterday but back down again today. The weather temp roller coaster is confusing our daffodils. They do not know whether to go up or back down into the ground.
yesterday we had a record high of 10c (50F) & record wind gusts of 120 kph. good thing the was a crust on the snow or there would have been major drifting.as it was there were multiple trucks put on their sides from the wind & at least one fatality.
This is killing us out here in La La Land: http://www.mercurynews.com/science/ci_24904396/california-drought-whats-causing-it I've heard global warming proponents suggest that with extra energy in the atmosphere storms will be stronger, yada yada yada. Apparently storms won't be strong enough to break down this high pressure ridge anytime soon. And this is really wrecking my ski season.
Well, I can say that winter hit with vengeance this week. Parts of Wisconsin received up to 12 inches of snow, which was where I was. uzzled: The next day while homeward bound in Minnesota, the "breezes" decided to put in an appearance with gusts up to 55 mph!! Very little actual snowfall, just Mother Nature rearranging what was already on the ground. Had to sit in Fergus Falls, MN for 30 hours as travel not advised on either I-94 or I-29. At least that little independent truck stop had good food. Apparently there are a few Alberta Clippers scheduled to pass through here over the next few days. The daffodils and tulips wouldn't dare make an appearance.
60 degrees again here today . But there is an ugly rumor that Canadians are once again allowing some of their frigid air to escape. Tomorrow we have a 40% chance for a dusting of snow. In NC we are totally against snow.uzzled:
We did not get any snow on the ground but I saw some flakes in the air. And you guys let so much cold air escape that the people at the Mecum auction near Orlando are wearing heavy coats.
Only 60 F today in Cape Coral. The locals were wearing hoodies and sweaters. The snowbirds (including me) were wearing T shirts and shorts.
I heard on the radio today that the average temperature in the lower 48 states today was 22f. The average temperature in the state of Alaska today was 26f. Go figure....
