60's and 70's. Graduated in 65. Went to work for a Buick dealership till I got drafted. While in OCS I ordered a brand new 67 gs400 convertible. Stored it in my grandparents garage when I went to Viet Nam. Came home in 69, went to work for IBM. Married in 71. Kids came later in the 70's.
I like Till Tuesday, they just didnt seem to play this song enough then, and they only replay "Voices Carry" today
Lone justice was another good band with a one hit wonder from the 80's I love her voice, were they pop, country, or????
Well they seem to be classified as Country Rock, Cowpunk, Roots Rock & Rockabilly... I remember them from the early 80's so they must have been getting airplay on something other than Country Radio because I didn't listen to Country Radio back then. Maybe MTV?
Too me how these opposite musicians got together I don't know. But wow what a song, never got tired of hearing it! Thanks for posting it. Other than "Voices Carry" I probably couldn't name another song of theirs. but what a sweet voice. I was never a concert guy or followed bands everywhere. Only went to 2 concerts in my life and both were Aerosmith. The 2nd one Steve Tyler ran off the stage about 1/4 in and it was over. Friends grew up next to where Aerosmith practiced in their apartment. They were young but heard the constant practicing. I just went with the flow of pop rock, heavier rock and some country. Makes for a ton of mixed tapes in the day.
I know I heard them on the local pop radio station, and pretty sure I heard them a time or two on WMMS a rock station here in Cleveland
as my wife would say...grow up. if i did that i would have to pick a decade or era. that ain't happening.
i was born in 06' and man im such an 70-80's guy at heart, my taste in music, hair.. lol, and cars, and im quite sure my father can atone for this one
I think the eighties high school parking lot probably had the best selection of muscle cars. They were cheap cool transportation! Cool cars were everywhere. When you watch movies or videos from the the 60's or 70's the cool cars are extremely rare to spot. So by the time the mid eighties rolled around they were just cheap and the eighties teen could really step into something cool List of neighborhood cars in the eighties My 69 six pack Super Bee Red Not the one I have now. My senior year ride. 73 Monte with swivel bucket seats and a 135 hp 350 2bbl. It ran as fast as a slug but chicks dug it Photo taken before rust repair and repaint. Rear wheels were 15x10 Appliance rims that I still have in my attic. Fronts were 15x7 Cragar SS.
Cool pic! Thats one thing I wish we had back in the '80s, camera cell phones. Only time you took a camera back in the day was for an event or special occasion, now a camera is with you 24/7, Im sure most of us would have lots of cool pics!
My buddy had one of those, I am surprised I do not see more of these on the rd. Now that I would put a LS motor in, they are really nice cars.
My brother had a ‘76. Flipped over the air cleaner lid and put on a set of white letter retreads and he was ready for Saturday night… Patrick
Class of 83 check, Stylin' here with my 76 Malibu Classic 350-2. Paid $1200 bucks, the radial TA's and Pioneer Super Tuner with Jensen Triaxles were probably worth 60% of the cars value.
Wow the Super Tuner and Triaxles days! I had the Pioneer KP 500 and the Jensen Triaxles in my 66GS. It looked so good mounted under the chromed metal dash and above the metal console and tach.. Weighed a ton but I left the old cheap Graig in when I took out the factory AM radio.
