The Skirts! Engine is a 66 Wildcat 465 (single Q-jet) + ST400 + 3.23:1 rear upgrade. Look out drum brakes!
My next vehicle is one I've been searching for for a few years now and I did have one until the seller backed out the day my shipper was picking it up. I'm after a 1936-38 Diamond T 212 Deluxe dually truck. I would also like a 30's Buick coupe to turn into a 455 blower motor gasser type rod. And to satisfy my mopar thirst I want a 68 Coronet 500 or R/T.
I would like to either find my dads old 70 stage that put the Buick bug in me or find an old truck for my wife. She likes the 50s chevys but wants modern drivetrain which means carte Blanche for me. I see a4 link and ifs swap in my future but need to get the Riv on the road first. Should be done by next summer barring any calamities...touchwood
Been looking at 63-72 short bed C10 trucks lately. Ideally with a FI 6.0 LS swap, AC, bench seat, and a front disc brake conversion, but not necessary. Also 1965 and 1970 El Caminos. Something else would have to go though, as I have more vehicles than room to store them as it is...
I never know until I see it. I made a list of about 50 cars that I want and I try to buy something on that list and try not to get side tracked too much. Right now I am trying to get the 79 Trans Am that I bought just out of high school back off one of my friends brother. I am also thinking about an air cooled vw. Or a car I can make into a gasser or a tube chassis car with an LS. In truth I need to not get anything else and work on what I have. The 92 Camaro don't need much just some sorting. The 81 Camaro needs the rear suspension put in. Last the Skylark needs more parts before I can start building that the way I want, unless I just make it a running driving ratty muscle car for now.
1967 Chrysler Imperial, fully loaded 4 door, disc brakes, 16K original miles. Its been in my neighbor's garage for 25+ years, never seen the light of day. the old couple passed away a few years ago and the kids are trying to settle the estate and sell the house, cars etc. The wife goes away today for a few days so hoping to do the deal and hide it away until she's in a really good mood. As i get older different things seem to appeal to me, and although this thing is ugly and green/green its kinda cool. The 8 track tapes are on the seat from the last drive, time capsule of sorts.
Something that makes good power, has all the creature comforts (a/c, good sound system, comfy seats) has overdrive for long highway drives, and is RELIABLE. I'm burnt out on constantly having to deal with something on the green car. I'm thinking there is something modern in my future. Despite I don't find them all that appealing on the uniqueness front (actually I find them quite boring really), there are a lot of guys having fun in modern muscle actually driving them while I'm having to tweak/fix something, and I'm tired of it. Ideally a hellcat charger/challenger, cts-v, or hopped up LS something. Maybe even an older Z06 that I can turn up without remorse.
I've been pretty content for a long while. Of the 3 I have now, the one I've had the shortest time (18 yrs) is possibly going down the road. That's a '40 Ford COE (running & driving). Couple people here mentioned '59 Invicta - I've had my bubble top for about 30 yrs. The project is active but has a ways to go. Ready for paint, no interior, motor/trans not built, taking care of a thousand little things. My first car I ever owned; '64 GP, was suddenly thrown into 'active project' status last fall. Engine & trans should come out this week for rebuilding, Tri-Power is all done & waiting. That car is getting a mechanical refresh/rebuild but I'm going to leave the cosmetics alone (56K original miles). I haven't driven it in 30 years. I have a few dream cars; always 2-dr hardtops. '57 Super Chief, '57 Eldorado Seville, '57 or '59 Adventurer, '57-58 or '61 Chrysler 300 would be killer, were I to buy one I'd want them largely 'done' tho- no more projects.... but they don't need to be full-on restorations. Also have a daydream of a weathered '61 DeSoto coupe with a built 440 tucked underneath, lookin like this:
