Today I was thinking I would like to put a 455 Buick in a Buick Rainier, I think it would be a great driver and sort of a sleeper! Bob H.
I'd like to have a short box square body with an LS. I don't care about the year at all. It would be a daily driver during the winter. But I've always wanted a 1965 Buick riviera. A customer of mine has two of them and he's not doing anything with them. I may have a shot because I'm the only Buick guy he knows. The one I really dream about however is the 1961 Buick Invicta. I have an '81 Regal, A '71 Skylark, and if I get this, I'll have a nice 10 years after collection.
I'm lucky. I don't dream about other cars. I'm faithful to my 68 Wildcat coupe. I got the car I really wanted first time out in Buickland. I admire and love plenty of other classics, including the last big Park Avenues of the mid-70s, the Boattails and all the GS455s, the Pontiac goats and Parisiennes and Laurentians of the late 1960s....but I'm settled on this Wildcat and it's not gonna be traded for anything. what I REALLY need is the money to make it an absolute jaw-dropper. It's nice now, but I've kinda shot myself in the headlights, budgetwise, by ordering a 2019 Harley touring bike.....LOL....
Depends really. I would really like to find an early 50’s Studebaker pickup and drop in a nailhead. Use this to pull my car trailer. As far as cars would like to get a 70 Olds 442, 1970 Cougar (the car), but of coarse before these I would like to finish my Buick and Javelin first.
You are a man of exquisite taste, Mike....other than the brand of truck, we're on the same page 100%, but we can agree to disagree on that EDIT: That red '61 is for sale again....I can't remember which city's CL I saw it in yesterday but it's under 60k now.....pocket change........
Just another 65 Wildcat...dual quad black/white custom interior..previously know as Felix and owned by Robert Stern aka Dual Qwad.
60k sounds like a deal on that 61. That car is super nice. Does anyone remember what is sold for a year or two ago? We don't disagree on the brand of truck. My current daily driver is an '03 F150 and I'll most likely replace it with another that is 5-10 years old when this one dies. I'm sure you remember my son's first truck is a '76 F-150. So I dream about getting a 2 wheeler '76 to play with too. We have a Dove-A 460 block sitting here, and sometimes, when I'm not thinking about Buicks, think about building a 545 out of it with a Scat rotating assembly for right around $2500 with a forged crank. Then adding a set of P-51's from Kaase for $2700. When you posted those pics of that yard full of old trucks, I had the trailer hooked up and was just about to fasten the chains when I remembered I don't have enough money to make that trip right now. So I threw the chains in the dirt and unhooked the trailer, and went back to work instead. My son had just turned 17. We just finished the engine break in with open headers and he was so excited to take it for a little spin I didn't even get the timing light off the fender. lol
I remember, Mike, just didn't want to "out" you and your son in front of everybody And, yeah, doing a 545 to 572 is cake:
Is that in your truck now, or do you have another one planned? Buick first. Someday an old ford truck.
Check out Memory Lane Motors Portland, Oregon...70 442 4 speed Silver and black...I saw this car a few weeks ago and it super nice.
I remember when the red 61 was at Mecum in Nov 2017, and then on ebay in April 2018. At Mecum, he wanted $85k, bid to $70k. on ebay he wanted $70k, but didn't get there. It was after I sold my 61 to Roy. He was trying to get me to offer $60k, but I didn't, as I was afraid he might take me up on it, I had a daughter ready to start college. Beautiful car, and would definitely be on my list, if I had a list, lol. https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1117-298019/1961-buick-invicta-custom-bubble-top/
