Today I was thinking I would like to put a 455 Buick in a Buick Rainier, I think it would be a great driver and sort of a sleeper!

I'd like to have a short box square body with an LS. I don't care about the year at all. It would be a daily driver during the winter.

But I've always wanted a 1965 Buick riviera. A customer of mine has two of them and he's not doing anything with them. I may have a shot because I'm the only Buick guy he knows.

The one I really dream about however is the 1961 Buick Invicta. I have an '81 Regal, A '71 Skylark, and if I get this, I'll have a nice 10 years after collection.

I'm lucky. I don't dream about other cars. I'm faithful to my 68 Wildcat coupe. I got the car I really wanted first time out in Buickland. I admire and love plenty of other classics, including the last big Park Avenues of the mid-70s, the Boattails and all the GS455s, the Pontiac goats and Parisiennes and Laurentians of the late 1960s....but I'm settled on this Wildcat and it's not gonna be traded for anything.

what I REALLY need is the money to make it an absolute jaw-dropper. It's nice now, but I've kinda shot myself in the headlights, budgetwise, by ordering a 2019 Harley touring bike.....LOL....

Depends really. I would really like to find an early 50’s Studebaker pickup and drop in a nailhead. Use this to pull my car trailer.
As far as cars would like to get a 70 Olds 442, 1970 Cougar (the car), but of coarse before these I would like to finish my Buick and Javelin first.

No "plans" for a "next" car for me currently, I like to do things spur of the moment and unplanned. :)

You are a man of exquisite taste, Mike....other than the brand of truck, we're on the same page 100%, but we can agree to disagree on that :)

EDIT: That red '61 is for sale again....I can't remember which city's CL I saw it in yesterday but it's under 60k now.....pocket change........

60k sounds like a deal on that 61. That car is super nice. Does anyone remember what is sold for a year or two ago?

We don't disagree on the brand of truck. My current daily driver is an '03 F150 and I'll most likely replace it with another that is 5-10 years old when this one dies. I'm sure you remember my son's first truck is a '76 F-150. So I dream about getting a 2 wheeler '76 to play with too. We have a Dove-A 460 block sitting here, and sometimes, when I'm not thinking about Buicks, think about building a 545 out of it with a Scat rotating assembly for right around $2500 with a forged crank. Then adding a set of P-51's from Kaase for $2700. When you posted those pics of that yard full of old trucks, I had the trailer hooked up and was just about to fasten the chains when I remembered I don't have enough money to make that trip right now. So I threw the chains in the dirt and unhooked the trailer, and went back to work instead.

My son had just turned 17. We just finished the engine break in with open headers and he was so excited to take it for a little spin I didn't even get the timing light off the fender. lol

I remember, Mike, just didn't want to "out" you and your son in front of everybody :)

And, yeah, doing a 545 to 572 is cake:

I remember when the red 61 was at Mecum in Nov 2017, and then on ebay in April 2018. At Mecum, he wanted $85k, bid to $70k. on ebay he wanted $70k, but didn't get there. It was after I sold my 61 to Roy. He was trying to get me to offer $60k, but I didn't, as I was afraid he might take me up on it, I had a daughter ready to start college. Beautiful car, and would definitely be on my list, if I had a list, lol.

    1961 Buick Invicta

    condition: excellent
    cylinders: 8 cylinders
    drive: rwd
    fuel: gas
    paint color: blue
    title status: clean
    transmission: automatic

Considering selling my rare 61 Buick Invicta bubbletop. ( only 6300 produced. fewer than 62 chevy bubbletops ) Purchased 9/15 out of Denver Co. as a rust free driver. Started total frame on restoration shortly after it arrived in NC. Disassembled car except for rear end and began transformation into the beautiful crowd pleaser it is today. Stripped to bare metal after thorough steam cleaning. Removed interior to clean and dynamat floors prior to tasteful makeover inside. ( Interior was in very good condition but I installed new carpet, recovered seats and dyed dash pad. ) Car retains its original 401 ci nailhead, tranny and 3.23 posi rear. Engine completely rebuilt and has 1500 miles. Tranny and rear end serviced and in excellent condition. New show quality base/clear paint 1 1/2 yrs old. New 18/20" wheel/tire combo. Jamco 3" and 2" lowering springs provide the great stance. Power steering and power booster rebuilt and work great. High quality restoration on a great cruiser.

Many awards including Goodguys " Bitchin Buick " pick at 2017 s.e. nationals. It was also recently featured on episode 1711 of Dream Ridez.

If you're looking for a rare attention getting bubbletop here it is. Have the only Buick bubbletop wherever you go.

Text or call 704 437 195five with questions but please have a genuine interest. . Very similar red/white Invicta recently no-sold at Mecum - Vegas for $70k. ( I've enclosed pic )
