Vinyl Top Molding Clips

wondering if the vinyl top mouldings are the same for 70-72 skylark ?

looking for a decent set that can be cleaned up and polished ?

 

Yea with exception of the 72 halo top ....the drip rails are different from vinyl to non also

 

any idea where to find set of moldings for 70'

 

I have several sets pm me

 

They make the corner pieces aftermarket but not the long pieces
my car had vinyl top but was taken off at sometime and they did away
with moldings and like to restore back

 

Never tried them but supposedly the repro corners are actually a nice part.

Think I've given up on trying to get the correct vinyl top molding clip, may just delete the vinyl top!

 

With all the Skylarks with vinyl tops would never figured I would not even find correct used clips.

 

You have the correct clips

 

Not sure how you're trying to install the molding. But you roll it over one edge...you don't just push it on centered over the clip

 

No problem, I guess the pin widen the clip. I'll try it connected to a mounting pin. Thanks for your follow-up .

This is assuming you have the original moldings? And not some 80s trim shop universal stuff?

 

Found some clips would snap in and some fell thru. The factory clips have a a thin " butter fly" wings at the matting area that stabilizes the clip to the molding, most of the time they break off.

 

Does anyone know the part number on the vinyl top divider moldings on a 70-72 Skylark GS? Aveco maybe?

 

At this point thinking about deleting the vinyl top.
