    Update:

Been in and out of the hospital lately havent really had time to work on the lark.

I got home today and noticed there was an oil leak comeing from my rear end.I think the front seal might be torn???I dont want to mess with the rearend! I just barely finished it in april!Anyways maybe monzaz will see this or some other rear end guru, instead of takeing the wheels off and the axles can I just get the total turning torque with everthing on the year end and then just crush the crush sleeve back down to that???

The engine is pretty much done just waiting on my new mallory 6al to get here my old one just took a crap on me.

Not exactly the right part of the forums but is there an overdirve kit for Th350's?Well thats it take car guys Russ!

hey guys whats up! Long time, anways heres an update.

Got everything bolted back up and put 369miles on my cam and the headwork I just had done. The car is way way way! more badass! The Lunati cam and Q-jet just:blast: to the holley 650 and the comp 268!

So I was at work today, got a job as a diagnostic tech at a shop here Im also doing a stock 350 rebuild on this guys 72 C/10 BUT back to what happened.I went to hop in the car start her up to head home for the night and It took forever to fire and when it did it was smoking like a damn diesel. So I shut it off and was like wtf??? By this time some of my coworkers came out and were like what happened? So i go to start it and it wont turn over at all just sitting there cranking forever then it finally fires and to keep it running I have to give it gas but the whole time it is smoking like a train. So I tried to take the idle up so I could get it home but it just kept dieing whenever I hit the brakes, any ideas what it could be maybe a pwer valve in the carb? This all happened after I hooked up a fuel pressure in line to see what I had at idle and it was only at 5 psi.Is that right? What im thinking might maybe have happened was that there was contaminated fuel in the tester still because I had just used it earlier on an Acura Tl that had contaminated fuel But I thought that I had purged most of it out.So once again guys sorry for the long posts I just like to explain everything to make it easier for feedback I just parked my car in the shop.Take care Russ:beers2: :beers2:

What color is the smoke? White/blue is burning oil, black or dark grey is too much fuel.

Discconnect the fuel gauge and run it like it was before...

Sounds like you might have flooded it out. 5 psi is good for the fuel. If it sounds like you may still have the miss I would just change out the plugs. They may have fouled out and may not recover well. I would also change the oil right away since you may have gotten a lot of gas in the oil.

Sounds to me like it is flooding. Contamination in the needle/seat will make the float stick. That is why there is a fuel filter. Dirt is a carburetors worst enemy.

    HOLY CRAP!!!

    My car is alive!!!

I could not figure out the carb issue at all today,so I took it off and gave to this older guy I know from my smog classes. He used to build circle track cars for years and now just rebuilds carbs out of his garag and does smogs at test only stations.I gave it to him and said hed call me when he was done lookin at it,about 2 hours later he came back and put it on and it just fired right up no smoke nothing and I could actually like here the lope of my cam.He said I had the secondary spring tension was all wrong and that the 430's had a really rich circuit or something like that and I had the vaumn hooked up all wrong ,I got the carb off a 69 430.So I take it for a test drive and:shock:  Its like a new car when I stomped it from a light its just got all kinds of loose through first and second and I was headed into the other lane goin sideways and I had to let off.The chug or like sputter I had at cruise about 60 mph is gone it just runs pretty damn close to perfect.I can honestley say im pretty happy with my car now.I think the only thing ima do next is new plugs and just play with the transbrake at stoplights until I run it june 13th.Once again sorry for the wall of texts and thank you everyone for giving me insight on trying to dial it in!:gp: :gp: Hopefully I can match my boys cobra a little better now maybe:bglasses:
