I rarely use UPS as their Prices are high . Fed-Ex is cheaper . USPS if it fits in a Flat Rate Box . And NEVER use DHL . They suck .

The market will tell what happens with rates. I suspect regular, higher volume shippers won't be hit as hard with rate hikes as the casual ones will be.

I spent 12 years working in the courier and small package industry, but that was 30+ years ago. It was much different then.

So that people that gave 40 years of their lives to a company would receive the pension they were promised . And not screwed by some CEO that is making Millions every year from the employee's hard work because he declares bankruptcy after skimming off all the money . THAT'S WHY !!!!

Wow! They took management to the good old wood shed on this deal.

Crazy that in today's day and age, we're seeing the most lucrative contract ever.

Why am I responsible for what someone did with someone else's money?

There is a word for the forcible taking of money from someone and it's not a pretty one.

The pension was managed by the union, not the company.

In either case, why should be the taxpayer responsible for their mismanagement?

NBC is reporting that they have a tentative agreement to ratify and avert the strike.

I don't know what pension you are talking about Fred . I am referring to companies that don't even have unions . Little guy gets screwed by the company .

    I complained very loudly.

I am on the tail end of the Cantillon effect. Most Americans are.

Companies pay into a fund for defaulted pensions. I don;t think companies should be allowed to default on them. I was referring to the 36 billion dollars that the current administration handed over to the teamsters fund that was owned by the teamsters and was mismanaged so there were not enough funds to cover it. If I follow that logic the Feds should bail out every pension fund.
The Govt is 30 trillion in debt, but the administration thinks you and I should pay for others pensions, and college loans. Sorry I don;t support that. If I make bad decisions on my investments be it stocks, or college degrees that on me, not you and the taxpayer.

And Others don't want to pay for a bloated Military . Or other unnecessary pet projects of the few . But we all do .

But you already pay for others college degrees . Its for criminals already in prison who get degrees from taxpayers . Murderers and Rapists get their degrees paid for . Figure that one out .

The end user pays. That's us. Payroll is just another expense of doing business and is factored into the price of the product. The consumer pays for all corporate expenses.

I'm pretty sure that I know who "Uncle Joe" is, but I don't see how he is going to get "most of the money". If you are referring to the Federal Government I agree. The IRS will get more in taxes.

Oh yes, the IRS will be getting more money and you’ll be working for free when you are doing the overtime. But hey you get to say you make 100 K plus put have no life.

I used to driving a deliver for a competitor. You have to find the magic number of hours before it’s not worth working more hours, it benefits the company more than it does you.
