I called them earlier, about 2:30 or so, and the guys I talked to said that the kit should work with any TH400 tranny, no matter Chevy, Buick, etc.... Didn't know what you were wondering about, but that's what I was wondering about. He said it should make things work. The the bracket that's included hooks onto the crossmember, which is provided, from the torque arm.

Yeah, the motor fit in really good. Enough room on each side, probably enough room for a small set of headers. Like I said, I'll probably have to move the mounts forward on the crossmember, and that's it.

69RivieraGS, will you go to yearone.com click on the f-body thing, and tell me if its showing the screen correctly on your computer, because its not on mine..... therefore I can't order that part. Thanks.

    Sounds good.
Actually it looks like their site is having some issues at the moment. It was working earlier but is giving me errors all over the place now. But some of their stuff is open tomorrow(sunday) from noon-5pm eastern, maybe you could order over the phone? Or maybe the site will be fixed by then.

I'll probably order it over the phone this afternon then, if possible. Don't look like their sites going to be working properly.

I ordered that kit over the phone yesterday since their website is messed up. He said that I'd have to back order it since they don't have it in stock right now. He said 3 weeks until it gets to them, and then as soon as they get it they'd send it to me.

Can't wait till Wednesday guys, hopefully it'll be mounted in there. Thanks.

OH NO! I tried to order that kit on the computer and when I clicked the last time to confirm the order, I got an error message so I didn't think it went through. Then I called and ordered over the phone. Now I got 2 of them coming, what do I do?

I checked my bank account to make sure they took the money out, thinking they'd only take the $173 for the parts and shipping. But they took out 173 X 2! Now my account shows a
    negative $68.

    What do I do?

You call Year One and ask for customer service, and when you get that department, say Hello, how are you today? My name's Matt and I ordered something from your company this weekend and I think anderror has been made on the order, and I hope you can help me clear this up. Then they will take it from there.

I worked in a business where I had to talk to various people on the phone more than I'd like to, and some of those people didn't want to help me. I found out that by being very polite up front, identifing myself with my first name right away, and asking them how they were today before I even asked my questions was one of the keys to get someone to help you over the phone.

3 weeks! :ball: That means I couldn't get in in time to work on it during spring break. Do you think the provided crossmember puts the mounting holes for the trans mount in the same place as stock? That way I could still mount the engine and know everything is in the right place...
Yea, they should be able to help you out w/ the order deal, espesially since it was their site that had the error...but I would think it would help to be polite

I kinda doubt it about the trans question, but I'm not sure. You could go ahead and mount the motor, and move it later.

Ok, I called them right before I went into work. I told the guy what happened and he took my name, address and such and said, "Well, it shows that you've ordered it once on the website and one on the phone. We've already credited it (whatever that means), you need to call your bank." I was really nice about it too. I just sent them an email. My mom said that if I check in the morning and I don't have my money back in the bank, then she's calling YearOne and raising emmortal hell. It's going to take something. I know that they chould be able to cancel, but he made it sound like they can't.:Do No:  :error: :Dou: :jd: :af: :blast:  :eek2:  :moonu: :spank:

Did you work any more on it today? The mounts I ordered should be in monday. I brought the car off the hill and down to the house today; I'm anxious to get started as well.

Nah, unfortunatley I didn't work on it yesterday (Wed). I got too tied up with my buddies after the college day. I will try to relocate the mounts on Saturday morning. I plan on getting up early like last Sat.

Where did you get your mounts? (just in case I decide I need to get them)
I don't think I'll need them though, and you shouldn't either. Let me know if they work, and I'd like to see some pics.

Oh yeah!!! I did get pics yesterday of the 455 sitting in the Maro. I'll post them as soon as my dad downloads them from his camera.:Dou:

I got the mounts from TA Performance. Part number TA1820CC. I wanted them cuz all I have are Riv mounts which are not lined up from one side of the block to the other, so I wanted some that would make things a little easier.

I just wonder what you have done about your front springs??? Cause if you need too change them later the engine will be in the way. Easier too change them now.

    -Matt

P.S. I just thought about it and I bet you had a V8 car too start with huh??? I have owned an 86 Bird with a V6 too long n forget some of them did have a V8.

Good thought. Though I got this camaro from a buddy and it used to have a V6 and then a sbc was put in and the front springs were changed to big block springs at that time I think. When I got it it was just the shell; no engine/trans/or much of anything else...just the esintials. It probably weighs a lot less than your standard 3rd gen too.

Have you looked much under there much???

I have and it looks like GM left plenty of room for a set of shock or even coil over shocks in side the a-arms. Would need too fab a bottom plate but big deal.

Isnt a worn out or just not as good as new strut still a structural member???

Finally got a picture off the 455 setting in it. I've moved it back towards the firewall since the pics been taken.

Notice in the pic above all the wires. Those are what I need to hook up. There's really not that many, just appears to be, because they're all bunched together. I may need yall help with this.

I'm waiting on a day that me and a buddy have off so, that we can mount it. One of us needs to control and hoist, and one needs to be pushing the motor back towards the firewall, so it'll land onto the mounts, hopefully!:)

Lookin good. There's a lot more room on the sides than I thought there'd be. I'll be starting on mine monday. I called yearone and it sounds like they don't order those kits until you pay for one; then they get it shipped in and send it out to you. The guy looked at the details of ones he had coming in and saw that it was only one, I'm assuming that's yours...
