More like welcome to school. I accomplished alot this summer. Initial testing of the X-Factor, trans/gear swap, but I have had plenty of free time to get all that stuff to work properly.:beers2:

How about I make a goal to return to the track at the '09 GS Nats? I like it.:TU:

Upon further inspection a pin hole formed in one of the exhaust ports near the valve. Car is running happily with the stock heads. Gah, do I miss that extra power, compression, and detonation resistance! I have moved forward my goal to have it back together to this winter during my break.

Good read. A lot, but good. So im lookin at about 238hp for my setup Cason?

Yes, somewhere close for sure. Don't think 238 is low, that is Rear Wheel Numbers.:beer

As opposed to HP at the flywheel. Rear Wheel is about 20% less because of drivetrain loss.:TU:

  9. SS-TRUCK

    SS-TRUCK Stage 1 X

More like 30% loss with converter slippage and parasitic power loss

I'm gonna duck before the rocks start hitting, but buy yourself an old honda with a bajillion miles on it as cheap as you can, oil it and feed it while you use it up, and put the hotrod on stands and do the work as you can, correctly and without the pressure to "get it done before class on monday" you and the 'lark will have a better life!:TU:

I second that motion ... speaking from experience too. I drove my '69 Sky all through college ('81-'85) and even then it was an old car that needed its share of attention. there were weeks and even months that the car just sat because I was too broke or too cold to work on it (went to school in Buffalo)

I can't afford any more cars. Haha:(. Besides insurance, tag, maintenance, is expensive! Once I get this car right, it will be rock solid reliable. It's not making crazy high HP and I have NOT been cheap about buying the correct parts. Plus, I like this car, its fun and FAST! I enjoy racking up the miles. :beer

I still got my 1972 Honda CB750 on campus too. 15k miles :D

So if the rear wheel HP is about 20-30% less than the flywheel HP, the flywheel HP in my car should be around 285-295?

Very interesting post! I just about missed it because it wasn't in SBB section. Could a link be published in the SBB form so others don't miss this as it purtains to the small bloke. Also SS-truck you never did tell us how to correct that initial bog with the Q-jet & please lighten up, we're all friends here.
