I am honored to present one of the first X-Factor intakes to be installed on a street 350!! After dealing with vacuum leaks, I got the engine to idle and run very well. However, the silicone bead on the back of the intake started leaking bad!:af:, so I squeezed more in there with the intake still on. I'm hoping in the morning it will be leak free. :TU: Enjoy
that looks sweet cant wait til i get mine in the mail along with the tt kit and forged goodies! looks awsome so with the leaks i take it you didnt get a proper test ride best of luck in the morning bro
No test ride yet. Leaks were too severe.:af: However, I have a feeling test ride will be tomorrow.:TU:
Keep us posted, I would sure like to compare the old overall performance to the new x factor performance, wish you would be able to video tape it to see the results...also what is the ussual price for this intake to have made
Congrats on the intake - it looks sweet !! ... I have a feeling though you'll be ripping it off again to fix the bad seal. Squirting more goo usually doesn't work, or if it does its not for too long. Noticed a couple of other things I hope you dont mind me mentioning ... I'd suggest a double spring for the throttle linkage and i'd also look to get rid of that loopdyloop the fuel line is doing. Do you have access to a flairing tool ? You're going to have alot of fun this summer - good luck with your project :TU:
Yeah, I need to shorten the steel line but I don't have another compression sleeve at the moment. I will have to hope for the best.
Just by looking at it this intake looks like it would flow DOUBLE of the stock intake. Rest assured, chassis dyno will be used in a few days:TU:
I bought a regular intake and a multiport FI intake with diresct port nitrous as well so mark is open to any and all combos....
Well, I am sorry to say that my experience with the X-Factor is over. I have been forced to return it back to stock. Oil, vacuum leaks, and freaky electrical problems were the cause. I installed the intake a total of 3 times, with about 15 hours invested. This whole project has taught me alot however, I am going to take a break for a few months on racing and engine mods. I just can't do these long unsuccessful jobs anymore. Cheers :beers2:
I busted my ass trying to get this intake to work on my daily driver. Sorry, I couldn't have this car undriveable for any longer.:moonu:
you can send it to me and ill give it a shot! :Brow: i have a fresh short block that needs to be finished! keep up the good work bud. :TU:
No possible way an intake can cause electrical problems . How did you spend 15 hours with only 3 installs on the intake ?
Electrical problem I believe was antifreeze in the alternator from the heater hose, it went away when it got good and hot. I installed the X-Factor 3 times, attempted tuning and troubleshooting in between installs, then putting the stocker on, cleaning LOTS of oil spots, coolant and tools. Mike, do you have a 350 this intake might benefit from? Your almost close to Birmingham:laugh:. Before this intake changes hands to anyone, let me make this clear, I have a good bit of money and time invested in this, so I am going to need to talk with Mark first. I appreciate the support guys, and I know some of you all are upset I had to put back on the stock manifold, but I would like your understanding.:beer
