Nice... Better casting, flow turtle in the bottom of the plenum, consistant (and bigger) port entries, banked runners... Cool.. I'm up to my eyeballs at the moment, but later tonight, I will try an post some comparision pics against a mid 90's vintage Sp-1. This is one of the first 5 prototype units, full scale production should being in July, according to Mike at TA. JW
Ah yes, Grasshoppa....a turtle he may be...but remember ancient proverb of the tortoise and the hare.....
Just giving him lip I thought it was funny that the new intake has part of the animal still left in it. You mean to say that is molded from turtles?:moonu: I figure I'll keep him sharp.....knowing Jim he's planning my demise right now.:beer
You ought to pass on to Mike that the new design ought to have a new name, so that the masses don't get confused a couple of years from now buying and selling used manifolds. It'll happen.....
I don't put much faith in that fable....a tortoise is shaped like a parabola, a hare is shaped like, well, like a rabbit.
There are external visual differences on the manifold.. most notably.. It simply says "SP-1" on it now.. not " SP Stage 1 " JW
bolt on turtle? Brodix I believe sells severeal different styles of turtles designed to be epoxied in. Poor turtles, First they had to endure us pusing them back and forth across the floor going vroom vroom now we're gluing them onto hot aluminum parts and forcing huge quantities of air past them very fast. :jd: It's not good to be a turtle. ou:
Jim's camera must not have had enough power. I'll bet its on the flow bench getting a Stage 1AL conversion for MORE POWER! :TU: Until then...
Nope... just too dang busy to get the time to lay them out, and take the pics.. Finishing up a year-long race car build.. and all those "little jobs" that take a few hours each. I will try and get the pics up tonight. JW
Very, Very Nice! You big block guys make me a little jealous! So many nice Super High Perf parts to choose from!
Old Sp-1 Compare the size of the #3 cylinder runner entry, to the above pic.. big difference here, and one of the things that had to be adressed in the older version.
