Dang, y'all's stories are making me HUNGRY!!!
True story from last week. I woke up around 4 AM. It's my "grazing" time. I ate 3 BIG bowlfuls of Cap't Crunch. As I went back to sleep I remembered my teeth cleaning appointment the next morning. LMAO!!! The next morning the dental hygienist asked me if everything in my mouth was Okay? I said, "You'll see." She said, "What the hell did you do?" I told her, "Three bowls of Cap't Crunch cereal. That AWESOME cereal will tear your gums apart!!!

Right now I'm watching The Rifleman." Speaking of food..." The only thing better than killing the bad guy, is getting a steak and slice of apple pie at the hotel. Life is good!!!

You can know for certain! Krispy Kreme has a phone app, ask me how I know! You will get updates of when they turn on the “Hot-Now light”, you can find the location closest to you etc. 094DDB6C-CB96-4208-8ADD-4B3A84593892.png

    LOL!

I had never ever heard of them in MA till that one day, so it just might be they were store bought and someone happened to come across them a year later when I tried them.
Just like there is no White Castle in MA but sometimes I come across a box of the tiny burgers in are local Stop and Shop freezer section.

I remember the "Krispy Creme's" in the box being small if that helps.

Believe it or not my favorite donuts are the old fashion plain ones but i'll stuff face with any donut if i'm craving:D

Only problem I have with Krispy Kreme is they bowed to the pressure of reducing trans fats and changed their recipe a number of years back. They've never been the same.

Hardees has really good burgers but I've found I like Culver's better. And that custard....

It doesn't matter if the eggs came out somewhat broken, they are only pretty for a second till you tear them up anyways, unless your a toast dunker:D
Fried spam is great, I do see though you like pepper.

A friend of mine puts hot sauce on Everything!! Doesn't matter what food it is he will load it with hot sauce. I don't get it? it defeats the purpose as it burns your tongue and you have no taste anymore?
I believe it comes from his drinking days of 40 years, he was never without a can of Budweiser in his hand. Easily a 12 pack a day.
He's sober today but still abuses the hot sauce..

Damn... Doc is all over the Krispy Kreme location! Thanks Doc!

The DD is still there on 34th Street N, across from where the mall was (Pinellas Square?). Now it's an outdoor shopping center called Parkside.

As far as breakfast goes, I normally didn't eat breakfast until recently. Since I hurt my back a month ago, I have to take the anti-inflammatory med with food. I found those little frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches work great and are really quick to get ready. I'm the kind that always seems to be rushing out the door in the morning...

Agreed, but I don't consider Culver's "Fast Food"... when is the last time you actually got your food handed out the window? Nope, take a number and wait... Chick-fill-A is in that same category.

Sit down restaurants with somewhat faster food delivery..

Ah, that explains it.. I was down south in the early 2000's when I first came across Krispy Kreme and thought those donuts were the as good as they used to make at the Butter-roll bakery, a little mom and pop bakery in N Minneapolis, that my Dad actually worked at when he was a teenager. It was two blocks from my high school, and we used to get donuts every morning. When Krispy Kreme came to town here, I thought they were good, but not as good as I remembered them.. a change in recipe would explain that.

Today’s breakfast, I used a large bowl, put several slices of ham down first, scrambled egg yolk on top of that, another layer of ham, another scrambled egg yolk and put it in the microwave. While that is cooking I made two slices of rye bread with butter. I took my concoction out of the microwave and put it on the bread, added a slice of cheese along with onions and tomato. It is flat out delicious! 573EEFC6-355D-40B5-8ED8-AFE94B9FEC06.jpeg 6D8A265B-3248-4B7A-A225-7F2A52F1CEB9.jpeg

Fat, sugar, and salt.:D:D It's bad for you, but it tastes oh so good. Moderation is the key. If you make a steady diet of it, your health will eventually suffer, faster if you are sedentary.:)

The first time I remember them changing the recipe was back in the 70's. They switched from frying them in lard to frying them in vegetable shortening. A lot of people were upset by that. And somewhere along the way they started making them round and smaller. They used to be cut like a hexagon.

Jim, I used a full sheet of paper towel and also ate my concoction at the kitchen counter. My crazy mother-in-law thinks she can get a half sheet of paper towel, cut her bagel in half on top of the half sheet of paper towel, put them in the toaster, take them back out of the toaster, butter them on the said half sheet of paper towel, and then walk to the living room where she wants to eat it on the recliner. Believe me, she left crumbs in front of the toaster, crumbs fell off of her paper towel along the way to the recliner, and crumbs fall onto her bathrobe as she eats it. Some of the crumbs fall into the seat, but the majority of them are on her bathrobe. Most of them will fall on the floor when she stands up, and then she will step on them. I have seen the crumbs all the way into the bathroom on the throw rug. She is a walking, talking mess!

I remember when Mcdonalds fries suffered a little when they switched from lard to vegetable oil.

On the subject of Mcdonalds it was a least 2 years since iv'e eaten there. I was doing the $1 menu at the time since for $5 you could get 5 double cheeseburgers for example. They sure knew what they were doing as maby 1 out of 10 people would get just the 1 burger maby because thats all the money they had.
I was the 5 or 6 or 7 $1 burger guy with the intention of only eating 2 and saving the others for the next day. Quickly learned that wasn't going to happen and my belly grew.

We all know that Mcdonalds loads their food with addictive preservatives and you can keep a burger out on a counter for at least a month and it won't spoil, same for the salads which the lettuce never turns brown and has more calories than a Big Mack.. ""A salad with more calories"".

Was craving a egg Mc muffin one morning and went to get a couple, first off the drive through lines were like everyone says. 15 to 20 cars deep and once your in you can't get out if you change your mind.
Then the Menu's are insanely hard to make out in the short time you get to see them and people honking behind you.
No more $1 stuff that I saw but buy 2 for like $3.50 options. I ordered 2 sausage and cheese egg mcmuffins and the girl on the intercom said that will be $9!!
I said no way and had to quickly change my order, so I get 2 sausage and cheese mcmuffins minus the eggs for $3. So doing the math it cost $6 more for two eggs.
They sure know how to make money and manipulate peoples process.
