As far as that fake graph goes, that's the thing about the interwebs -- any fool can make something up and let it spread.

Example:
I post "you gotta remember which side your butt is breaded on."

Somebody likes it and posts "like the old saying goes, "you've got to remember which side your butt is breaded on."

it then becomes "Like a famous comedian once said, In life, you have to remember what side your butt is breaded on."

A little later, "As Mark Twain himself once quipped in a ribald moment, "In life, you must remember what side your butt is breaded on."

not the made-up type. Facts are true.

Fact: the sky is blue.
Fact,: the sun sets in the west.
Fact: the earth is (approximately) round.
Fact: that graph is made up rubbish.

I like facts, not "alternative facts", which are just made up junk.

 

Pretty sad statement.

I may not agree with gsfred, but he posts cogent, realistic arguments to support his position. I can believe and have verified things he has posted.

I just choose not to accept content that is easily debunked. A capacity for critical thinking is all it takes.

 

Worked somewhere where to COO would get the owner wound up by presenting half the story.
" Steve, get in COO's office right now! Owner is furious!"
Owner: "Steve, we're in trouble because you sent copies of forms, not originals! Why would you do that? What is wrong with you? etc. etc."
Me,: "COO ordered me not to -- told Manager to take the originals and to not let me have them."
COO: " I said no such thing."
Me: "Hold on."
(I fetch Manager)
Manager: " Yeah, COO told me to keep the originals and to never give them to anyone and copies would do."
COO shrugs.

Now, a little critical thinking on Owner's part would have helped -- maybe come discuss it calmly rather and get both sides of the story before simply flying off the handle.

Happened over and over. Yeesh. Same result every time.
