Just came back from the local CVS store where I spotted these two awesome Buick‘s. Their new 2023 price was $16.99 apiece. Ouch! E56DFB60-4F4D-4D8A-8567-3CAE1F05A145.jpeg

Two years ago I bought these 2 Buick’s for $10.99 apiece. Much better deal. I’m glad beer prices have stayed somewhat flat. Pun intended DE1F643D-DF48-45AF-8B7B-C0089B1B7BD6.jpeg

PS, Milton, a.k.a. 455 stump puller, next time I see you I’ve got a present for you. You can have the white one but I’m keeping the yellow one.

Yup. I recently paid $16.99 at CVS for a '55 Buick Century CHP model. Too much money, but I just had to have it. Sorry, I can't post pictures right now. I'm going to have the computer guy come out and see if he can figure out why.

John, I have the Free CVS Extracare card.

You should sign up for that. They continually send me coupons that I can send to the card online. 40% off one item, or 35% off your entire purchase are common. I save a ton of money. Seems like they send me a coupon every week.

    Dang Larry,
That is awesome information and I will most definitely remember it and act upon it. Used to go to the CVS right down the street from me all the time. Then they put in a Walgreens with the liquor store and much cheaper beer prices. My prescriptions go through CVS, but my alcohol gets bought at Walgreens. Thank you very much for the information!

The last time that I bought some of them at CVS they were $11.99. A five buck increase is a lot!

Used to buy model kits at K-Mart for less than 2 bucks. Testor's paint was less than two bits for a small bottle. Who's getting old? :D

Also used to pick up small outgoing shipments from the local distributor in 1978-79. Once in a while a "surprise" would appear among the boxes, usually a kit that had been opened, returned, and could not be resold.

I used to pay $1.87 for the standard 1/24 scale model cars back in the late 60’s-early 70’s.

As far as inflation goes I’m happy to pay $2 more for eggs and 60% more for toys. My fuel has gone from $2k a month to $5k, insurance up 20%, groceries x2. I just paid $65 for a box of framing nails that were $25-$30 for 2 decades. Sorry, rant over!

You should see what has happened to the price of homeowner's insurance here in Florida.

$50??? Holy crow. I also remember l;ike $4.99 and when they went up to like $10.99 and $12.99 I tapped out. For $50 I expect a full pallet of models. Especially if the detail quality sucks which assume it does.

Interesting John - Chairman Powell agrees!:
Listen to Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell. Several types of insurance, including home and car insurance, have surged over the past few years and it’s hurting the Fed’s effort to get interest rates down to its 2% target, Powell said in congressional testimony last week.
“Insurance of various different kinds — housing insurance, but also automobile insurance, and things like that — that’s been a significant source of inflation over the last few years,” he said.

That’s funny blame it on the insurance companies because they can’t get inflation under control. Gotta love it. Here’s a concept why don’t we stop spending money we have to print.

Here’s another concept, spend tax$$$$ only on American Citizens, the ones who pay, should be the only beneficiaries.

or maybe tax the rich. Somehow the rich keep getting tax cuts, I guess because they live paycheck to paycheck, while average joes don't get tax cuts, I guess because they don't need the money?

Our tax code is progressive and punitive. The more you make, the higher your tax rate. Taxing the rich is the politics of envy and not a good look.

Do away with all income taxes and tax only spending then you will have a fair tax.
