If it wasn't for the gutter where would we keep our minds, I can't think of a better place

While I appreciate the info, I knew about that because I was there! I even talked to Kenny and told him how disappointed I was that he didn't make the Olds into a cosmetic Buick. He laughed. I remember him running the 6.89 as well as Lawrence having major traction problems. When I referred to the SBC he ran later, I assumed he ran faster with it. Maybe not. I figure you're a heartbeat from Ingersoll's 7.20 and thereby being "The Worlds Fastest Buick"! Period. Single turbo. Twin turbo. Triple turbo. Whatever. Of course, I'd keep an eye out for that li'l Regal. He's gunnin' for ya! There I go again! Stirrin' it up! Of course, I think the shootout should be at Cecil, where you'll both go FAST. If you match race at Salem, you'd just be racing to see who wins on that particular day. Forget about breaking any records. My BEST pass at Salem last year was a 9.01. I enjoyed the race, but you ain't goin' fast out there! (I know, I know. Shameless Cecil plug!)

I'm still trying to talk Rod into Cecil. But your right, I'm sure there is no chance we are going to get another cool spell in August like last year.

Maybe we will get lucky and a huricane will slam the east coat just in time to cool off NEO. They said it will be another record breaking year for them. Fingers crossed;)

It looks like the 4 bolt modified block is holding up! Since the aftermarket block isn't here yet, do you know if it would be possible for folks that have TA girdles on their engines to modify them the same way?

Cecil is a good track because it is maintained constantly! My inlet air temp never gets above 70degf no matter how hot it is because of the liquid intercooler. I can always throw the power at it but the track is always my major iss as that clutch kicks my ass on a bad track! I dont know if I have the aerodynamics to run much faster....the motor in the car is on the 4th season with only valve adjustment for maintenance, I need to freshen it soon, no time like the present to turn it up against that smaller, more aerodynamic, twice the displacement, alcohol inhaling, blown monster<---how is that for stirring it?

We are going to Salem, probably have to close shop for a week prior to get ready, last minute thrashing like always!

Rod's running a stock block........How about it Billy, throw a 109 in your car.....

Hope this happens in Salem, It will for sure be the fastest side by side Buick race ever!.... :beer

What! are you already coming up with excuses on why your a$$ got beat :moonu:  We can do 2 out of 3. Ya know I've never benefited from talking crap, things usually end up backfiring. But if it gets the fans going, I'm a good sport.

As far as the block,,, we have to turn up the boost to really test the block, then we have to tear down the motor and get a good look at it. So far the signs that would show when we cracked the block in the past have not been found yet. Once everything is checked out I'm sure I can get Mike to chime in with any questions. I would just hate to build false hope at this point. Rod and I at this point feel pretty positive about the block though.

Now for a trans that will hold up!!!!!!

    Hi Danie,

Would it be at all possible that when Rod does tear it back down for inspection that you get a few pic's for us to "mull" over??:Brow:

    Thanks..:)

I'm sure that won't be a problem. I'm not real sure on when he plans to tear into it, but I will get pics when he does.

Crank it up! the worst you can do is break it!!!! LOL! I would love to run heads up side by side for a match race, "Worlds fastest V6 AND V8"! would make for an awesome audio clip I'm sure.

Can that automatic, you wont regret it!

PS I gotta make excuses in case I can't back up the smack talk! :spank:
