Incredible car...bid to almost 165K last time and did not meet reserve...however, could you build a car to this level (NOS parts, outsourcing engine, driveline, suspension and mechanical rebuilds, 1000 + labour cost, plus the cost of aquiring the vehicle!) for much less? BTW, that's the coolest looking trailer I've seen in a long time...

Great car and I have seen it in person. It is hard to say that anyone or any car is the best. But if you are the self proclaimed champ then I hope one would be willing to defend one's title against all challengers.

So I would like to issue a friendly challenge to the Xtacy car to appear at the Buickhorrsepower Nationals in Indy this June and step into the ring with the likes of Jim Shields' X or our GSx and go toe to toe.

Jim, I'll fly from China back to the USA to see your GSX once you're finished with it. Just let me know where you are going to be. I've been watching for the last couple of years with much anticipation.

Unfortunately, the event in Indy is at the same time as a fishing trip to Canada with my buddies from college.. I hardly ever get to see those guys anymore and we come in from all over the country (in my case overseas) to do it once every year or two or three. Seems to be getting more hit and miss lately. So I can't miss it this year because it is coming together.

How about the BPG Nats, will you be there too with this baby?

    GS Nats?

    Jim,
Will you or Jim S. have your cars at the GS Nats in BG? I know John has taken his car there the last two years, and would love to see this friendly challenge. If not, the Indy event will be here soon enough!!

No we will not be ready for BG but will be ready and present at Indy. I cannot speak for JS. I saw his car at the BCA Nationals last year and it is a worthy opponent for the Xtacy's claim to the top dog crown.

We have engine masters challenges, match race challenges and as long as it is kept friendly there is no reason not to inject a little adrenlin in the car shows by having a little shootout if someone like the GS Xtacy feels they have the top dog car IMHO. I will be ready for a friendly showdown /throwdown and I suspect some of the other owners of nicely restored cars are too. The X tacy car has the benefit of having been vetted by being judged many times and given a heads up about what is correct and what has not. Ours has never been judged but that is Ok.

Just to make it interesting I would agree to exchange a list of the top 25 ( or 50 or whatever) things I contend are incorrect about his car and he can do the same for ours. The judges would then consider the evidence we have to back up our respective contentions.

I submit this type of friendly rivalry could only serve to spark some interest in the show cars and further serve as an educational experience for all that are interested.

    bid history

Here we are again look at the bid history, who's near the top again wds455gs for years he's been finding out the reserve and bidding it up. This type of bidding means jack, the car has been on e-bay what 3 or 4 times and hasn't sold, none matching #s beautiful car if he wants to make it real drop the reserve and sit back and watch, then will find the market value. It's all smoke and mirrors until it sells :boring: Chris

You seem to be a tad misinformed. The GSXtasy auction has run twice and the reserve has not been met. There have been several interested parties but obviously the sale has not materialized as of this writing. This is a numbers matching car as well. I read the board and refrain from posting due to the fact that most people don't know what they are talking about. I choose not to get caught up in the drama. The car is what it is. The real value of this car will be determined by what the seller(ME) is willing to accept for this pristine piece and what the buyer is willing to pay. It becomes a win-win for all parties.

    John,
Is your car still in the Museum here in E. TN? I might drive down to see it. I can't afford to buy it, but would love to see it in person. I somehow missed it at the Expo in Knox. in 04. Sorry you feel there isn't a good amount of knowledge on this site for us Buick owners. I personally think it's the best thing since color TV.

Yes, the car is still in the museum. Let me restate what I said in the previous post. What I should have stated was there are a lot of people that claim to know things but don't. There is some really good info on the site from different knowledgeable well informed members. I think you know what I mean. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Good luck selling this time. This is one of my all time favorite ebay cars. I love watching all the bidding.

    pic's

Sorry if I was misinformed but I saw a post on your car that said the block had been decked, so what your saying is the numbers are stamped in the block :Do No: maybe you could clear this up. You have people bidding on your car that have no intention on winning it but only want to push the prices up, I've been watching these same people bid this way for 3 or 4 years. These same people were pushing the price up on a 70 stage1 4speed that belongs to a board member here, and like all the other high dollar buicks I've seen on e-bay in the past it did not sell.I am not attacking you or your car but only pointing out the these bogus bidders that get of on bidding with NO intention on buying. Your car is very nice, I hope you get your price but I would sure like to see one of these high dollar cars sell for a change, its just like the over priced house up the street that keeps going up for sale that never sells, you can ask what you want but until money changes hands it don't mean jack. Please clear up the #s on the block would you so we all go back to knowing nothing :TU: and I don't think I was wrong at all when I said 3 or 4 times being on e-bay, including this auction it is the 3rd time. :Do No: Chris

John, you have a great looking car, but you have to admit the numbers on the block were gone(decked block)when you bought it. I looked into this car before you bought the car. You could be honest and still make money on the car. farmer!boy

I am a bidder on the car now and bid on the previous auctions. If you are not planning to buy why would you care if the car is being priced or discribed correctly. I have been able to buy based on my own decisions and wallet with no help for several years. When I am not able to think for my self anymore I am sure my kids will take my wallet. Thats all the protection I need.
