I'm probably a bit biased, but my favorite is Stage 1, bench seat and NO air. Now you're talking! Oh, I forgot about the wire wheel hubcaps. :bglasses: Harvey
It's a wonderful car, and everything the seller says it is. The real deal, and not a doctored up car. A true "survivor." Remember this is a dry climate Montana car that was taken good care of. I would bet there is no more than surface rust anywhere on this car.
Too Wierd Unusual things happen, I have a close mate to this Ebay car, Buick did make some interesting combos. Mine is another survivor - only 26k orig miles, unrestored. Stage 1, 4-speed Same paint combo 14-B A/C and very few options Bench seat - Black Vinyl base 128 A true Buick friend set me up with this car. Thanks John
Tell me about it!! The car ended up in California and I already own the car I originally wanted anyway. (I'm partial to the 72's :Brow: ) Oliver Colteryarn bought it...he goes by the username (on this board) "yellow x". He's got a pretty nasty X that's made headlines as well as the cover of the GSXtra a few times... It's in good hands... Plus, it was going to need A LOT of work....
Reg- nice ride!!! :TU: Do you know the selling dealer? A fellow board member gave me the lead on mine. Interestingly, my GS came out of Selover Buick in Billings. I can attest to what Adam said. My GS looks like the day it was made underneath. I guess that Montana weather is good to sheetmetal
history Chris When I checked his history, there was a chevelle that he bought all the rest of his purchases were stereo equipment.I went through his history when he was bidding on the to cars from here,Bill's and randys along with alot of other buicks that were on e-bay.My point is I've seen MANY buicks sell on e-bay,but never have seen a big dollar car sell on e-bay.I think there's alot of guys flipping these car's that are trying to create a artifical market only to better there bank accounts. If these cars were realistically priced they to would sell.To many reindeer games. If you want to speculate do the stock market.Chris
History only goes back about 30 to 90 days. The car I was speaking of he bought in September 2003 for $15k (2429145139), I was looking at it as well. It was a very nice 71 or 72 GS 455 Convertible. The seller (Nick J.) and I talked about it and several others that he had, and he confirmed it sold. I have also seen him buy at least one more, and subsequently offer it for sale. He also has bought quite a few Buick parts. yes he does bid on a lot of Buicks, but he is (was) a real buyer. I would venture a guess that someone out in the Carolina's probably knows him.
side tracked Chris,03 is almost 3 years ago.I think your totally missing my point.wds455gs is not a issue here at all.My issue is I don't think in alot of cases the high prices were seeing on e-bay are legit, there is NO sale and NO money changing hands. For some like me I buy a GS because I have a sickness for buicks I want it to drive and enjoy. When I buy I don't think about trying to pick it up cheap so I can flip it and make money.I'm in the process of buying a nice stage 1 car right now,I'm not sitting here wondering how much it will be worth a year or 2 from now,I don't care thats not why I want it.This is a car I will drive for a few years then hope to restore it with my son. It's funny many other people feel the same way I do about this but are scared to speak up Its only one mans opinion and its not meant to upset anyone.Chris
Current bid: US $71,000.00 (Next bid meets reserve) The seller lowered the reserve price to US $71,001.00. Learn more. :eek2: :Comp:
If anyone is looking for a no frills stage 4-speed dip-blue no vinyl, no brakes, bench,no air, 52k on the clock, in frame off condition with build sheet, history, and complete # match and date match on all parts doc't by Heckman, call J.B. @ 847 322 1726. :eek2:
Chris, Now I see your point, and you are right, there are a lot of cars that don't sell on ebay, but I am not sure if that means they aren't legit, or in some cases maybe the owner just wants more for them than the bidders, so they don't sell? I think it is some of both, although I would agree that it is probably more of the former than the latter, even though I know I have bid more than I should on several cars, and was outbid, and the reserve still wasn't met.
bidding the car up I think at some point we have all helped a fellow board member by bidding the car up close to the reserve.I Can't wait to see what happens here,I would take this car over an X any day. In the next 4 days we should find out if the bidding is real or not  Chris
If you're selling a car or offering one up for someone else, you need to list a price and location-per board rules. Thanks!! :TU:
It sure looks like the bidding is not real... if the bidder wants it bad enough to bid 71K, what's the hold up here? It's his for another dollar, right? Or am I missing something? :bglasses: o No:
I agree...If I'm willing to pay 71,000 I would hit the buy it now for 75,000 immediately so that I don't lose out on the car. But then again, that's me.... Harvey
There is a W-31 on ebay with bidders I.D. not listed. It is way out of line as is this car. Show me the money and I will believe-- but something doesn't smell right here. My 2cents
