Went up to $30,100 last time around with the reserve not met. Looks like a real survivor. Check out the low mileage! I wonder if the poor pictures are holding it back? A car like this ought to do bring much more in todays market

    Jason,

This ended early last time....poor pics or not, this thing is NICE!!!

I would LOVE to have that in my stable of Buicks... :Brow:

Not to mention, it comes with the original doggie dish wheels...

    From the listing:

"I have the original color-matched standard steel wheels with taxi cab hub caps (I think, at least one of them is hanging here on the wall of my office.)"

    still a bargain!!!!

A really poor job marketing this car. This car, should bring very good money!!! I guess we will all see soon enough.

what pray tell do you guys think the reserve is set at? 100k?? If this meets reserve and the car does in fact sell, this may very well set the bar for a non GSX public sale. Annie Oakley's 70 convertible was the last 70k dollar sale I remember on Ebay. Although, I know a couple of private sales that have exceeded well over $100k. I can't help wondering what mine would fetch on Ebay

    Here We Go Again

Here we go again, note wds455gs and jrj454 bid on almost every car GS or GSX I've seen on e-bay but I have never seen them win one :Do No: How easy do you think it is to phone and talk to the owner and get the reserve price?IT's real easy. How many of the big dollar cars that you guy's have seen forsale on e-bay sell????? 0, none, nodda 1. SMOKE AND MIRRORS.Some people lap it up others just shake there head. That beening said, this one will most likely sell.......... Chris

    Slow down Chris! :beer

I have seen wds455gs buy several, and I have spoken with the seller (and have seen wds455gs sell one of them afterwards) afterwards, and he is a real buyer. Don't know anything about the other guy, but his feedback indicates he likes musclecars.

I have talked to the owner of this car (he is a board member), and was contacted by several people about buying the car outside of ebay after he listed it last time, however he chose to re-list it instead to give all interested parties a chance to bid.

I agree with you, this one will most likely sell, if we see some more bidding. I would bet the reserve is not that far off. But by all means, give Dan a call about his car, he is a really nice guy. :TU:

Annie sold her convertible? For that much? WOW! I didn't even see her list it for sale, guess I missed that one! I remember when she bought that on ebay, nice car.

I remember seeing another board member's very original Stage 1 convertible (mjs) sell for that kind of money on ebay in the last year or so too.

Prices are definitely going up! :ball:

I meant to say that she bought her car for 70k on Ebay. I should have worded that better. I remember that the seller had a GSX also on Ebay at the same time.

Getting a little off track on this thread, but IIRC she bought it in the twenties (I was looking at it as well). There was a red/white interior convertible that sold in the 70's, but that was a Stage 1 car. Are you thinking of that one?

Thats the one I was thinking of. I always thought thats the one that she bought. Your memory about GS sales always impresses me.

That's because I want all of the ones I can't have, so all I have is the memories.

Does anyone feel that while a 4-speed Stage 1 car is rare, the 4-speed cars with bench seat are even more rare??

I've always felt this way only because Buick really pushed for you to fork over the extra loot for buckets when you bought the standard trans. cars...or at least that's what I've read and heard....

    Opinions?? :Comp:

hmmmm...thats a good question. Not sure on how rare it is. Ive seen probably an equal number of each in my travels. Now if you want to talk about desireability...thats another story. Bench seat 4 speed cars have a definite coolness factor to them. They have that no nonsense, all business look to them. I love how the shifter curves to the shape of the seat. But the bucket seats with the console gives the interior an upscale finished look. I would venture to say that neither detract from the value of the car. If I were looking for a 70 Stage 1 4 speed car, I wouldnt care which seat it has. BTW...my current Stage 1 is a bucket seat/console car. My previous 73
was a bench seat, standard interior.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference....if I had my choice, I'd much rather my car have the bench seat....of course I didn't have a choice and at this point, I'm not going to complain...

I guess I'm a sucker for the unsuspecting, no frills look the bench seat portrays when coupled with the "fitted" shifter.... :Brow:

Had I known then what I know now, I would have tried to buy this car outright from the buddy I went in 1/2 on it with....

Ah well, coulda, shoulda, woulda...right... :Dou:

Wow! That was a good read. A 34-B Stage 1 4 speed car....Hmmm, thats sounds familiar! I think there's one in my garage!! lol How come you didnt pursue it after finding it again?? I would have been all over that like white on rice!!! :3gears:
