Exactly. As of now at least, I'm not aware of any way scammers have figured out how to do fraudulent wires although I won't be at all suprised if they do figure it out. Then we're really screwed. But at this point they're as good as cash & the funds are available immediately, even international wires once they hit the receiver's account. Most if not all banks still have a "wire room" where all of the incoming & outgoing wires are handled by actual people.

I did a reasonable amount of incoming/ outgoing wires (domestic & international) in my old business & the only time I had a problem was when a customer put in their memo "Korea" for their own internal reference which my bank flagged as they wanted to make sure my customer's customer wasn't North Korea. Unfortunately this sat on someone's desk for a few days while everyone else involved (incl. people @ my bank!) was trying to figure out what happened to the $.

I read - sb seams to be a scammer --- A RED flag went off---- NOW I'm the seller Ok--- Something stinks--- Guy is to fast taking --- I don't care what he's not getting the car END OF STORY..

Now the the fast talking scammer is here on the web site busting my chops calling me the bad guy.... All you guys are hearing the scammers side of the tale.

Now look at the add Stacy has it up for 26K.... Scammer states he beat him down to 15K......

Now is ME I put a truck up for sale I had lots of offers.. a few near closing I didn't like the POS buyers.... End run I keep the truck.... 5 years later a gentleman got a hold of me. I sold it for MORE than my original asking.....I felt the truck would be in good hands and loved....

To SCAMMER.. your a low life....

$15k seems like a heck of a deal on that car. I think I'd hang onto it for that. Not even my thing per se but I kinda like bubble top Impalas & obviously like Buicks & like "different." I really like the car. If I had the space/$ I'd have probably already bought it and wouldn't have expected to get it for anywhere near $15k.

Stacey had the car for $16k. I offered $15k and I would cover shipping/freight, this gave him his full asking price.

I don't think you're a bad guy and have not said so anywhere.

Quit defending the scammer.... The scammer is trying to push Stacey friends to do what he doesn't want.... My opinion Agreeing with the New scammer are back stab-ing old friends..

If the Scammer wants it that bad offer 30K for the simple fact that's what the car is worth.

OK first Stacey shut the door on the sale.... Now this POS scammer is trying to get in through a back door.... WHY ARE YOU HOLDING THE BACK DOOR OPEN FOR THE SCAMMER WITH A KNIFE IN HIS HAND??????????????

I now know as a fact that I would never want you to back me up if needed.

WoW, this is way over the top guys.

    (1) Aug 21, Buick goes up the sale, $26K.
    (2) Aug 24, entraining last call for bids or car will go the Auction. That never happened.
    (3) Aug 30, still up for sale for $26K.
    (4) Sept 29, Priced reduced to $18K by seller.
    (5) Oct 8, Pictures of Underside of his Buick presented by seller.
    (6) Oct 25, First contact by Sb_. He says, I sent you message, please call me.
    (7) Oct 29, Sb_ asking if somebody can help him smooth over things that have gone ballistic with seller.
    (8) Oct 29, Quick Buick adds gasoline to the fire several times. No help for this situation.

priariecanary, if you don't feel confident about selling your Buick to this guy Sb_, and you believe he is a scammer,
just come online and say so.
This way, we can all put this under the table and forget about it and quick arguing.
This is senseless and only putting members against each other.

The fact that there seems to be no flawless way of determining who is a IS a scammer or NOT, is another issue to be discussed among forum Management. Please let it REST. Don't we have better things to do????? VET (Navy)

I know. You can lead a dog to water, but you can't make him drink it.

I'm just so tired of all this bickering. No need for it.

Where are the Moderators when you need them? Smartin already said, Jim W verified this guy is NOT a Scammer, what more proof
    does he need????

No one said that he wasn't a scammer. Just that Jim verified he was an actual person.

Well, you need to read Martin's entire post. He also said he did see anything to indicate this person is a scammer.

Smartin is a moderator. So, I have to believe he knows what he's talking about. Do you?

Well, accusations are very bad and seem to point in the direction this person Sb_ is a scammer. When some one posts it "seems" like he is a scammer, that leans in a direction we should not be going to without firm proof. Don't you think?

I still don’t see any scammers.
Wire transfers only work one way. You can deposit money, but not withdraw. The only one that is on the hook is the buyer, who cannot take back or cancel the transfer once it’s initiated. So, advantage Stacey. Sean, the potential buyer, appears to be eager to buy the car. Ultimately it’s up to Stacey, though.

This is the exact method how I bought my 70 Buick GS. You are 100% correct. Thank you for posting this. Regards VET

Id be very leary and if I was in the sellers shoes and not comfortable... just walk away. Maybe the buyer could get a local firm to be a intermediate to handle the transaction? I am not taking sides.

    Thanks Briz.
I can understand the seller not feeling confident about selling his car to this particular person.

All this bickering to too much for me, I didn't joint this forum to lesion to all this crap.
I'm also amazed the forum doesn't have a mechanize to help us to buy and sell parts and cars safety.

Maybe someone much smarter than me will come-up with a process. I used the same process that Smartin described, worked out perfectly.
At this point I'm done with this fiasco, going onto something else.

Hey, the good news is, I've gotten a LOT of help and advice from forum members, I can't say enough good things.
I had a lot of problems that occurred from my 70 Buick GS 455 I bought over 2 years ago from a lying consignment Dealership.
All the issues have been resolved because of membership help and expert advise. I should be getting my car back from the shop next week. :D

    This is easy..

I did in fact manually verify SB-'s account last week. AT that time he did tell me he was anxious to buy a car from a member, so that seems to be legit.

Stacey, if your leery about giving out bank info, which I can understand, just have him send you a certified check.. when the check clears, ship the car.
