Pinging???Question

    Mine runs hot at idle because it has the leak at the thermostat housing that will not stop (at the four o'clock position).

    If it is full of coolant it is fine and now that I switched to a six fin water pump impeller. Temperture is even better now.

    raise the front of the car up with a jack or whatever and fill the radiator up, start the engine and let it heat up. As soon as you get all the air out of the system put the cap on.

    Now I have to wait until Monday to call TA as the lady on the phone only wanted to ship UPS :( and some one else will be back then.

    Note: I have an aluminum radiator, a non-air water pump, and the larger and slower pulleys (aka under drive pulleys).

    :grin:was out for a couple hours today and beat on her a bit and she performed oustanding. The car does eveything better from just sitting at idel to wide open stabs and wheel spins. And to top it off she's not heating up! might get to 195-200* instop and go and then cools right down once i'm going to below at or below 180*. No pinging or fuel starving and real good fuel pressure. Life is good! (for now)
