Sorry, I'm going to keep them to put on my next truck.

They are Hella 7" 110 watt pencil beam. They will light up a stop sign from a 1/2 mile away. Paid close to 500 for them. Luckily they did not get damaged.

I wonder if you could / if a lawyer could get them / make them release any results. Then you could take civil action.

Civil suite are different and need less proof. Just a bit of evidence.

Like the OJ trial. Wasn't enough evidence to get him put in jail by the state. But the family got a good civil judgment out of it. Less proof was needed.

It's usually pretty obvious if they printed the truck. There'd be black powder all over it. Plus, even if they do match prints (assuming the perp's are on file to match against), all they can prove is possession. And that's only if the prints are found on the interior portions of the truck.

Usually that involves, at the least, having the fingers in a downward position along the top edge of the side windows (as if pushing them down to reach through). Most of the interior surfaces are difficult to obtain prints from. Most commonly found locations are the rear view mirror, interior windows, and seat belt buckles. Other than that, it would be loose objects found within the vehicle. Photographs are great because there is some magical reason people can't keep their mitts of photographs.

It would take more information beyond just fingerprints to prove the actual theft.

Dude sorry to hear about your truck, ti sucks when people do this because even if you get a new truck out of the deal it still isn't your truck because the excitement of first time ownership is gone.

Some dumbasses tried to steal my jeep a few years ago from my school parking lot, they were complete professionals and almost got away with the car, except I had a fuel cut off switch (a switch that turns off the electric fuel pump). They got a block and a half from where the car was parked and abandoned it on a median in the middle of a 4 lane road (blocking traffic). I ronically I have the same rims you do and they bent one hopping a curb. I still get mad when I see the mismatched paint on the door that the dealership botched the repair from when they broke in.

If the car was stolen with a key it is almost undenyably someone you know. Case on point, my girlfriend's parents beamer was stolen around xmas. The car was stolen from inside their garage with a key while they were asleep in the house. They recovered the car two months ago. It turns out that the neighbor's kid, who occasionally house sat for my gf's parents, who knew where the keys would be, and who it was discovered from talking to his friends that he had been joyriding in the car the whole time whenever the gf's 'rents were out of town. He was caught and they were going to let him off with a warning till I requested his criminal record and it came back with several shoplifitng charges and a bunch of prior stolen car arrests in which the charges had been dropped because the cars all belong to people in the neighborhood. Now instead of probationary councelling the kid (and his friends who helped steal the car and attempt to sell the car for drugs) are looking at their first stretch of doing 5 years hard time for GTA. If the car was stolen with a key, my money is on the most degenerate person you know who as access to your keys.

Yeah. Plea bargain. Give him a lessor punishment to a "future" crime" to get him to confess to stealing Eric's truck for which they won't do anything because that's NOT what he is incarcerated for. Yeah that'll teach him not to do it again. Right. I suggest a pillow case filled with billiard balls and a dark alley.:TU:
