    WOW :eek2:

I can maybe try to understand the radiator cap thing. At least people will see that everytime you open the hood.....

But $320 WHEEL BEARINGS???? :Dou: :Dou:
Geeze.... I wish I had some NOS wheel bearing grease to sell him.
Ya know... it's got to smell correct when they inspect the wheel bearings at the car shows....

Iwonder how much he might pay for a pair of NOS cotter pins?

    Absolute sheer insanity. :puzzled:

Funny thing is 30 years ago you wouldn't think twice about hurling one of those in the garbage.

The cotter pin comment was funny. It's probably not as far off as you think. :error:

Saw one last year early for one of our 455 GS cars bring $300 on Ebay!!! NOS item too. I fell out then, but this $500 price is even more radical. Who would have thought?

Here are a few more examples of this same cap

I've found, with a VERY different price....makes you wonder a bit, huh?

    One

    Other completed auctions

Someone please tell me why the other two caps hauled in the same amount of money and these are all relatively close in price. Keep in mind, some of these are used as well.

Also, the second hyperlink is of completed auctions. You might have to be registered with eBay to view them.

I may have to throw my hat in the ring..

This just came today from a dealership out in Santa Rosa, CA. The box is obviously a "later" one but it's still the same deal as we've seen earlier in this thread....

Heck, this one item could fund a good portion of my restoration!!! :Brow: :Brow: Just kidding...well, maybe not...

I think I'll wait a little while before offering the bait to those independantly wealthy Corvette and Cheby guys...

Brett....look real close at your cap and the NOS one. There is a major difference.

I've got one of those in the box. RC 15 #861050. The center Rivit looks different, mine looks black. Does anybody know how to date code one of these?

    EEE Straight out of lo-cash!

I'll never ever pay anything near that kind of money for anything for my car. Bought it for two grand and now it's got a new 8$ dash, and today two pieces of weatherstripping for another 7$.

    That is just insane!

How much would it cost to replate and refurbish a used one? Must be the cardboard boxes that are worth the dough?

Did anyone notice what other items they bought besides the Radiator cap? How about a $440.00 fuel pump or even better ( worse? ) $712.00 ( yes, SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWELVE DOLLARS )for 2 window cranks. not regulators, but the little chrome and plastic pieces we grab to roll the windows up/down. THAT is fanaticism. Kevin
