I drove Dans "X" before he bought the car, awesome! At the time I couldn't afford the car. Maybe Dan will tell the story about him driving by in the rain and saw the window down on the "X" , stopping in , walking up the driveway and closing the window ,then driving off. Also this guy had two "X'S", the yellow one Dan bought and the white one that was hit and totaled setting on the street about 30' from the yellow "X".
I bought my "X" in Indiana in 86, a yellow Stage 1` 4 Spd that now sports the Stage 2 cast iron heads , the original unmarked b4b, 850 holley and repo TA headers. I have a set of NOS stage 2 pistons, but for weekend driving, 12.0 to 1 compression is to much.
Dan, glad you are in the process of bring the "X" alive.

Dano, if I may offer some unsolicited advice.....take plenty of pictures along the way. I never planned on showing mine and I have very few wishing I only had more.

They look really cool on a finished car at a show. A kind of reminder of how much work you really did on the car. :bglasses:

    Dano,
Call when you are ready and I will answer any questions I can. I agree that you should take as many pictures as you can, especially before you start. You should also take pictures during the dissambly. You will be surprised by the amount of questions those pictures will answer. It is also a good idea to video it every now and then.

I love to see the "Basket cases", I get my best info from unrestored cars, plus the before and after pictures are great.

PS. If you haven't done it already, purchase an assembly manual, you won't regret it.
