Hey Mike, coming soon to a street and track near you....... a nitrous sniffing 70 Stage1 Apollo(?). Getting real close.(finally) beating the 10.08 is speculation, but, since the car weighs 1100lbs less than my GS and has a proper chassis and gearing plus a bit more N20 I really don't think It'll be a problem picking up 1 sec in the 1/4. Either that or I could just use John's 427 twin turbo Camaro(I never said what type of car had it covered) and decimate that 10.08. After all I built it so I drive it. BTW, his car was vicious at only 9lbs of boost on a stockblock 410 smallblock. With his new shortblock, tubular subframe, FAST EFI, fuel system, coilovers and boost turned to 26 psi or so, It's gonna be either fun or scary. Hopefully both. LOL
Friend of mine with a GN had an ex girlfriend driving one night. 5.0 pulled up. Guy said "GN's ain't s**t !". The girl was driving and didn't know how to drive a GN (build boost on brake). 5.0 got out first. GN passed the ford before the other side of the intersection! ford guy wanted to try again(still mouthing). They took him again. The nest stoplight they met again. Ford guy said nothing. The girlfriend said " You just got beat by not s**t, with a chick driving it!". 5.0 made a turn w/ tail between legs. End of story -- until the next spanking.:spank:
IN NITROUS HE TRUSTED, BUT HIS A$$ GOT BUSTED (saw it on a GN) <----- that was mine , I got that tag frame in high school for my '69 Super Bee (in 1987) and then later transferred it to my GN, had to remove it cuz that is where the 'chute now resides, that very frame is now on one of my employees 10.5" tire GN racecar hopefully will run some mid 8's at the GS Nats this year! I have seen it on a bunch of Buicks at the Nats, apparently others liked the quote! Just the other night(about my clutchless Liberty) as I had my wife balance the trans on my pass side door "X" brace as I got in the car to reinstall it, I said "make sure you have it, if that trans falls on the floor we will be in divorce court" her response was " Don't worry, If I find the receipt for this trans., we'll be in divorce court!"
