Very cool car, I remember when i was young(before i could drive) there was a guy at the drag strip that had one of those as a tow car for his sc/rambler. He did race both cars. I thought that was so cool. enough about that just wanted to say cool car and thanks for sharing.:TU:
I remember drooling over a brand new 1970 Machine just like yours at Medway Auto Sales in Medway, Ma. in the fall of 1969. There were a long time Rambler/AMC dealer. That car is really cool....how fast is it????
Hey Mike, CONGRATS! This is one of my all time favorite musclecars. The 4 speed was a friggin score.:beers2:
Rare then, and of course even rarer now. Does it have the 3.54 rear in it? Nice find. Congrats & Enjoy! :TU:
i ahve worked with two fellows here in windsor that each owned one of these cars from new. very nice..
Thanks for all the compliments, yes, the production got set back due to a strike in 1970 at AMC, mine is a very early car, one of the first off the line and one of the original run of R/W/B cars...on a Rebel Machine, I have found, it is hard to find one with the original "Machine" intake manifold and exhaust manifolds as they were specific to these cars. I was fortunate to find one that was unmolested and still has all of it's original items, including close-ratio T-10V, engine, and all of the body tags, decals and ID tags...let me tell you, it's a whole different ball game. You think documenting a Buick is tough!ou:
...A nice example of a good collector car. I have to say I wasn't a big AMC fan. Here in New England with our salted roads, they were even more serious rusters then the competition. I also wasn't a big fan of their Prestolite alternators and distributors. A conversion to Delco would fix the unreliable charging system. We did a bunch of them where I worked. The performance was good though. I know that there was one year when the CHP bought them.
Hey Mike, Ironically my friend called me today on the way home from work and asked me if I wanted to buy his SC/Rambler, he's stumbled upon another car he wants real bad and needs to thin his herd. I let you know how it turns out!
Let me know how it turns out...and good luck! That is a very valuable car, as I am sure you know. Is it an "A" paint scheme car? Those are definitely the coolest (and most obnoxious :TU: ).
Yeah, its an A paint scheme, its all numbers matching and has had 3 owners right here locally. We have some details to work out yet so we'll see. Stay tuned! :Brow:
