Here is some pics of my 67 special deluxe. Just got it back a few hours ago after having it sandblasted and primed. There are a few holes that have to be touched up, but its looking good. I got the engine back in it already, I refuse to wait! Ill post some more as I move forward.:Comp:
Doesn't look like a disaster to me! Looks great! You are going about it in a very efficient way....blast everything and start with clean metal. Beautiful!
LOL I doubt it. Im on areally tight budget and Im searching for parts that dont exsist. I wish I could have it done by then. We,ll talk up to Reinbach, I remember your car from last year. I should have been wearing a bib!:beers2: Ill try to bring some more photos of my progress.
Oh yeah, the color was green from the factory. Its a 300, not a 340.ou: . It has to be the ugliest green Ive ever seen too. I purchased gree buick paint for up to a 66 and had to tint it to matchou: . Nothing has been easy on this project, from the one off piston rods to the missing parts, its coming along though.
Re: Green paint Jason thats the same green on my 65 lark .Im going to need to do some touch up on valve covers and intake, am I going to have a hard with paint match? Keith
Re: Green paint Im not too sure about the 65. I tinted the paint to match the exact color I had. I actually have a half a quart left if you would be interested. I used an HVLP spray gun and painted it all at once with a half a quart.
Jason, wow, that's not too bad, Rhinebeck is in June this year- Good Guys moved it up 2 whole months. :TU:
Thanks Jason found out today that local paint store can color match on nearly any thing, they can also load ti in an aerosal spray. Thanks again.
The only disaster about it is...FRAM!!!:spank: Those frams are bad news but other than that looks awesome :TU:
LOL dont worry about the Fram, I only had it on there for install purposes. It will be recieving an AC Delco or K&N. I know all about their known problems, but I wasnt going to put a good one on just to smash it up. Thanks for looking out though.:Comp:
So Ive since replaced the windshield filler panel and patched the dash where it was rotted out. I just trimmed the interior out with the proper blue so I can start to reassemble the dash area. All I have to do is install the ducting and touch up the insert and Ill be able to fire her up. I cant wait to hear my baby run again!:Brow: Well here are some photos of the progress Ive made, its not much but its something.o No:
