Elvis had a prescription drug problem, by no means a freak that liked little boys. I remember the day he died, I was 10. It is never to late to learn:beers2:
Elvis Aaron Presley, in the humblest of circumstances, was born to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room house in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935. His twin brother, Jessie Garon, was stillborn, leaving Elvis to grow up as an only child. He and his parents moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1948, and Elvis graduated from Humes High School there in 1953.

Elvis musical influences were the pop and country music of the time, the gospel music he heard in church and at the all-night gospel sings he frequently attended, and the black R&B he absorbed on historic Beale Street as a Memphis teenager. In 1954, he began his singing career with the legendary Sun Records label in Memphis. In late 1955, his recording contract was sold to RCA Victor. By 1956, he was an international sensation. With a sound and style that uniquely combined his diverse musical influences and blurred and challenged the social and racial barriers of the time, he ushered in a whole new era of American music and popular culture.

He starred in 33 successful films, made history with his television appearances and specials, and knew great acclaim through his many, often record-breaking, live concert performances on tour and in Las Vegas. Globally, he has sold over one billion records, more than any other artist. His American sales have earned him gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards for 150 different albums and singles, far more than any other artist. Among his many awards and accolades were 14 Grammy nominations (3 wins) from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, which he received at age 36, and his being named One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970 by the United States Jaycees. Without any of the special privileges his celebrity status might have afforded him, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma, and good humor endeared him to millions, as did the humility and human kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over by his first name, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977.

I literally had my drink spray from my mouth when I read that one. Just about fell out of the chair.
Only thing better would be if I had said it!

I thought that the comment about him being 6 feet under and a good person deep down was funny, but it only gets honorable mention after the children's pants and 28 year olds.

breakinbuick11 I remember the time of Elvis and John Lennon, and I remember when they died. I haven't been watching the news tonight (speed channel) but when they died, the nation mourned. People gathered in numbers to be together and pay honor to the loss. There were thousands of people openly crying. They were loved to the end, they never had a "comeback tour" on the schedule. They were where they wanted to be right to the end. Elvis was the biggest thing to hit Vegas, and people planned long in advance to get a chance to see him perform right to the end. There was never a scandal over them harming another person for their own sick pleasure.
I don't think MJ will be remembered anything like them. Elvis is making more money today than most any entertainer ever dreamed of in life.
If there is anything positive that MJ is remembered for it will be way back in the Jackson 5 days, and for the effort that he went to in making his productions entertaining. Not as a beloved icon.

As for these things happening in three's
I don't believe in that stuff, but in the last month, I sat with my Grandma when she died, 13 days later my wifes Granddad died, and a couple days later I had an aunt that died.
Not sure if that counts though. My Grandma and the wife's Granddad were great people, but like was said earlier, if there is any justice, my aunt is shoveling sh*t in hell right now. She was the worst human being that I have ever known.

Everyone quick to mention him being a child molester, what about the parents of the alleged victims who took the money and ran and then refused to testify against him. To me, they are even worse than Michael Jackson.

I don´t want to discuss about what he did or didn´t. And I really don´t want to know.
BUT what I want to say is that we should also remember him as the great singer, songwriter and entertainer he was.
I´m just talking about the music. And in that way I can say it´s a big loss to the world.

I agree, I dont know what he did or didnt do and I'm not gonna accuse him, but as far as those parents go, either way they are trash, if he did it they are trash for letting him continue to do it to others, and if he didnt, they are trash for extorting him out of his hard earned cash.

Don't know if he was guility of abusing young boys (even though I have my own opinion) but I do know now that he has met the man up stairs and he either did the moon walk through those gates or got on the elevator to the bottom floor. You can't fool the man up stairs, nuf said.

If your child was truley abused by a man would you accept money and let it all go?

That tends to make me wonder. What we don't have to wonder about though is that he was the most reconizable figure in world throughout our life time. Like it or Not. Go to any part of the world and everyone knows Michael Jackson. The trial is over and so is his life.

What you choose to remember is your business.

I choose to remember the Off the Wall album and Thriller. How he changed the way music videos were recorded and how his dance moves were simply inspiring to a young kid back in the day.

May the King of Pop Rest in Peace.
