This has been sitting outside a buddys house for as long as i've known him, asked him about it one day n turns out it was his brothers and he was in a bind for cash. Picked it up for cheap, fenders and hood were there too. 68 Lemans, 3 speed/400, Manual steering, bucket seats, woulda been one hell of a fun car once upon a time. those tires still have the damn stickers on them from when they were bought new. Cleaned them up and they are on my Skylark now.

Bought this last week from a local business owner who loves his classic cars and wants to retire. '68 Polara 2-door, Runs and drives, black interior, only a 318 car though. Same guy had some cool stuff for sale, I'll get some pics next time I'm up there. 42 Plymouth Coupe, couple 48-52 Chevys, 67 Galaxy 500, 57 chevy truck, two restored galaxys.

TexasT Texas, where are you from

You have to remember that back then having the third door was a revolutionary Idea. Those were work trucks. Back then the station wagon was used to haul people and personal stuff and had the grunt to pull a trailer. Now you have to get a truck to pull and haul as all the wagons are gone. I believe up until 66 the Suburban was a two door. But in '73 the fourth door was introduced, and has been there since.

Here a a couple of pix I shot tonight. Some may recognize the place, though I will decline to identify it.

That Crown is cool! My brother had one in the 80's. It had some sort of single-speed automatic that would allow the engine to maintain the same RPM regardless of the speed.

I totally freaked out when I spotted a Ferrari 512BB cruising through town a few weeks ago. I had to weave through traffic to catch up to it and monkey with my iPhone while driving to take a photo of it. Only then did I realize, by the note of the VW engine, that it was just a kit car. :moonu:

The other photo is just one I found on the internet a few years ago and thought it was good enough to post here. :moonu: :moonu:

While I do appreciate the sharing of car show pictures, let's try to keep this thread going with non-car show pictures only. Just cars that you see while driving around, parked in public, or just out and about in an everyday setting. :TU:

Here's a Skylark I saw a few days ago. Gave the guy a thumbsup and we went on our way.

Not really an automobile - but an old bus. Snapped this on I83 in PA heading home from Baltimore.

Here is what I found downtown Lakeport, CA. I didn't bother with all the Corvettes in the Memorial Day Parade, it would have been a lot of pics as the whole local club was represented. I'm picture uploading challenged, so I will just describe the pictures in one paragraph instead of at the beginning of each one.

The 55 Chevy with flames is a daily driver that a woman drives around this area all the time. The green 71 Skylark was for sale for $1,500 in the Dollar Tree Plaza parking lot. The two Corvettes and the burgundy Chevy were in the same lot at the same time. The Mustang was across the street in the Napa Auto Parts store parking lot, it is also for sale. The white Firebird was at Safeway and a similar Camaro drove by me as I was pulling out of the lot. The Mopar was at K-mart. On the way down town to see what I could photograph I saw a 56 hardtop Chevy and a 69 Chevelle Super Sport in yards that I could not go into, but they were both restored and very nice. But the one that should be against the law is the orange Chevelle up the driveway right by my house. He lets the Chevelle sit outside while his wife's newer cross over sits in the garage!!! This should be against the law!!! However, he is a city policeman, so I guess he knows the law. :pp :pp

Oh, I also missed an old Model A rat rod that went by as we were going to the Memorial Day Breakfast down town. It was nicely done.

Saw that R.R. Phantom Coupe on my way out to the Hamptons.

Not unusual to see a half dozen of these $300,000 babies in one weekend out here. Bentley and Aston Martin convertibles were last years rage.

You can always see the latest exotic that is not available to the public yet parked in town with manufacturers plates. Oh the land of the rich-n-famous is a trip.

This Buick was sold by the same dealership (Vincel, Springfield, MO nowadays a Lexus dealer) where my 73 Riviera was sold new, so thought it was nice to have it on photo:

This car is driven daily by the original owners family since 1948. Photo taken at a local supermarket, the gentleman was in buying his groceries.
