now i was on a differnt thread and one guy sais he had a TA intake and sold it because the stock one and aftermarket one were very close to making the same power. am i going to notice a difference? i know on sbc s you will this is my first sbb, and i love the car and style, but the limited aftermarket parts are killin me. owell:3gears: :3gears:

I have had my 350 run 11.92 , all motor . No Juice . I know you N20 guys probably find that hard to believe but no reason to lie .

Get the TA intake. About the same HP will be given but at least you can put Nitrous on the TA intake. Plus it just looks cooler and plus you save about 35 lbs. The best part of all is you can put a Quadrajet carb on it or you can put a Holley square bore on it. The Intake can accept both types of Carburators without any adapters.
"Why doesn't anybody see this when comparing the TA intake to the stock intake?" I am not knocking you at all on my quote so please don't take it that way. I always read on here a lot that someone got more horse with the stock intake and wonder why they should buy the TA intake.

The TA Intake is just more versatale and plus it just looks Badass.
    Don't leave home without it.:TU:

Can you tell me about your combo and how you ran those numbers. My car weighs 3800 with me in it.
I made 468 ft.lbs torque and 420 hp with Nitrous on a car dyno just before my 11.80 run in Sept. Your car is hard to believe on all motor. Do you have 456 gears? I run 373s.

4.10 gears , Poston intake and cam , many hours tuning and trying different jetting and timing . Got lucky and hit a good combo

well crap dude, share the love!!! i know my 73 is a tank. but good timing and fuel are the key, for sure. best ever was 14.60s on street tires . as far as intakes go, well see come spring. got a GOOD quad and dont want to change, i know ill never see 12.00s, but a decent 13.00 pass would be nice:3gears: :3gears:

ive seen a fully decked out LT-1 make your time bracket before without forced induction using nos.
No reason for a sbb not to be able to do the same with a simular build.

2nd and most important quesiton is..........
exactly how much nos could you use on a stock buick 350 without causing any long term damage...

i mean a comfy size squirt charge that could be blasted daily all day and do minimal damage.....

what exactly are the limitations to using nos and when is too much too much?

If you guys wish me to start another thread on this i will...
just thought it would be great convo for the new eyes..

No need to start a new thread.

I'd say a 150 shot would be about max with a stock bottom end, but its all in the tune. You'd need a good fuel supply and the timing retarded a few deg to eliminate detonation.

There is no telling. It should easily take a 150 shot BUT nothing is fool proof. A good setup should do just fine on a healthy motor as long as you do it right. There is no such thing a "minimal" damage unless you get away with a bad tune-up without killing it.

well lets say a 50 hp topshot ??

you could bang that all day all the way to miami and back on a 36 yr old motor right? LOL

I take it you want to use your 2 barrel. If that is the case, then you would need to make your own spacer plate and screw 2 Fogger nozzles into the plate pointing down each side of the intake. Only 50hp?? You'll be disappointed......It will just feel like it is running good on a cold day...Now if it was a Civic that would be different......

    yeah makes sense

IF a 50 shot isn't big enough for a rustang its defintely not gona be enough for a buick small block..

WAs thinking about gettin a sneaky pete for fun.. maybe ill wait till the 4 bll conversion

Rick, that's pretty cool! Is that a common N2O Q-jet mod? What are the details on the entire kit? :TU:

No, not a common Q-Jet Mod. It was something I came up with. The basic kit is a NS-8002 kit that uses a Soft Plume style nozzle then you have to add a second nozzle, 2ea-"Y" blocks, 4ea-custom 6" lines for the nozzles, and add 12ea new jets to the kit. Plus there is a fuel pressure safety switch and fitting to plumb it in for use with a mechanical pump. Most people don't have a factory 4-hole intake when using nitrous so there isn't a kit to support it unless you want to plumb a full-blown Fogger style nitrous sytem. For which means you have to pull the intake off to drill and tap it.

The only gray area will be the mechanical pump holding enough pressure but it should on a stock setup. There is a safety switch, so it will either work or need a booster pump/bigger mechanical to feed it.

I still am running my Nitrous kit. At the Buick nats this year I ran 11.90@113. But now I am starting to get bad wheel hop in the car. It seems to be doing this more and more. At the buick nats I thought that I broke something and decided to just run on the motor. This got me to the semifinals but could not get any farther. I still ran 13.63 on the motor.
