Just realized that I have almost no pictures of my '67! Here are the few that I could find right now. Dad bought the car in 1988, Mom had it until 1991 and she gave it to me to drive to high school. I can't find a photo right now with the stock wheels - it was a factory disc brake car (currently has drums on it) so it has the body colored rally rims similar to a Chevy Corvette rally wheel. Car came factory equipped like this: GS 400 conv, 400 trans (column shift), PS, P-disc brakes, posi rearend, P-Windows, P-bench seat, clock, radio, tinted glass, door edge guards, Code F- Blue Mist Poly, white interior, white conv top (currently has black top). I'm ashamed to admit I have not driven the car since 2002 except in 2004 when I backed it out of the storage building at my parents place to snap 2 of these photos. Except for the wheels it is 100% stock appearing, just before it was parked it ran 12.20s with the best ever of 12.10 @ 111.39. Car has a 230/240 cam, 9.9:1 compression, stock switch pitch convertor, stock 8.2 rearend with 3.55 gears, 2.5 exhaust (no H or X pipe), 3900 lbs. Of all of may cars, this is my favorite yet I have neglected it....shame on me. On the bright side...I have collected lots of NOS parts for the car over the years, have the entire #s matching drivetrain safely tucked away (I removed it all before I broke anything), so the car will eventually get the restoration it deserves.....
Well, you wont see many 66's than 67 They are just a rare Breed I dont think ive ever seen a 66 Skylark street and strip car at the track. Ive never seen a 66 Skylark full race car Either. I could be wrong They may be around but i havent seen any.Thats why Im building my 66 Skylark Its rare and going to be fast one day I hope..
67 GS340 i just sold a little while back.. one owner creme puff 66 skylark my first project car.. stock looking on the outside but all haul ass under the hood.. low 12 second car regretted selling the 66 for over 10 years so now i'm building another to replace it.
Before and after. I didn't do the work, but a fellow board member did before I bought it from him. It's a Skylark that is partially cloned to a GS.
Ted: I love your car. I bought a 67 GS 340 new, it was silver mist with a black vinyl top and interior, hardtop. I kept it until 1990. In 2000 I decided to build a 67 race car and searched the world over for a post car. Could not find any good enough to rebuild so I built a Skylark hardtop and cloned it a GS. Still looking for a solid post car, Special, GS whatever. Hope you enjoy the car. Jim N.
Beautiful! A one-owner '67 GS! Please let me know if you ever decide to sell it. I'm unemployed right now, but I'm sure if and when you do decide to sell it, I'll either have the funds or will be able to come up with the funds somehow. Roy Buick_GS
