You have a great looking GSX. I hope you keep it and enjoy it. If you do sell it I hope you and the buyer walk away happy with the deal both of you made. I feel this ebay deal is a little wierd and somewhat odd from the view of a outsider looking in but the bottom line on this or any other car auction/sale...This does not involve me so what you do with your car and your auctions is yours and the buyers deal... NOT MINE OR ANYONE ELSE!

I am however surprized that no one bid your car over the 81k mark. This is just one more clue that the market is down right now. I feel that we have not see the worst of this market downfall.

John good luck on whatever you deside to do with your GSX.

 

I think most long time guys in the Buick community know John.I've known him as being very reputable.Why are some people climbing up the guys ass? Anyone who's bitching here could have owned this car right? All it took was cash .Don't want to be a prick ,but I hope it doe'snt change hands thats too cheap.And anybody who has a car like that ,that disagrees,and will take 80 something for it let me know I'll take it,so will alot of other BUICK guys.take it,Just my 5 cents.Joe

 

John, it is what it is. There was a day when e-bay was not a bad place to buy and sell stuff. I have been watching people bid cars up on e-bay for the last 4-5 years, they never buy but bid on every buick that comes up, but the car would all most never sell. Unfortunately with these people doing this it sends a false reading of the value of these cars so when I saw you do the no reserve auction I thought here we go someone with the Balls to fined out where the market is right now which it confirmed that its in the tank. John if your a victim of this type of bidding I'm sorry for jumping the gun. And to the guy's that say its your car so do what ever you want with it, there is still laws and rules that some people don't follow. Some of us still have this little thing called integrity and a conscious, maybe if you have been screwed in the past by people selling/misrepresenting the sale you would understand or maybe thats the way you operate so it doesn't bother you. John If you don't mind me asking who is henry white to you and why can't I find him on this board? He must be a real big boy to be threatening to kick my a$$ and going on like he did in his pm. Thats why they have the reserve button, to protect your investment. And I also agree that's to cheap for a car like that but I have the same feelings about my cars when it comes to how much there worth but that doesn't mean they will sell for that. Chris

Sounds fair enough...that is why I went in a re-worded my first statement early this morning after I typed it. Kind of knee-jerk and I apologize. Your reputation does command more respect than what I initially showed

It is a beautiful car...IF it is still around in a year or so, I will again be shopping for another 70 car, just not through ebay. If ya'll can't tell...I've been burned on ebay between a scam auction, a crazy vendor as of recent and a car deal that got away through a fail-safe buddy of the seller bid

 

Henry White was on this board but asked or forced to leave many years ago. I dont know why henry would send you a PM wanting to kick your a$$. I have known herny for many years now and think a lot of him he is what I call a "good ol' country boy" very nice guy. I really am surprized that he would get into this. I have never seen that side of him. That said I would not want to tangle with him as he is no wimp! I like the open discussion and dialogue here and hope that we can cast our views here as adults and not get into name calling, fights, and head games. Right or wrong John has made a desition on his car. Everyone here must live buy there own view of personal integrity. As I said before this is Johns car and his call if there are Laws broken he alone will deal with that no one else. As with any deal buyer beware on ebay or anywhere else. Place your bid and take your chances but never think ebay sale's set the value of a classic cars. When bidding or buying a car I like to think what is it worth to me. Not what is is worth on ebay, NADA, or anything else. Many people have got cought up in the ebay price's and think there car or others cars are worth more than they really are. How many times have we all seen the car sitting beside the old house off the highway rotting away and ask the owner if they would sell it only to here " I saw one on barrett jackson go for 150k" and all they have is a rusted out skylark that is a POS and they think its worth a mint. My point is any car out there is only worth what someone will pay. no more. no less.

Well, now that we are all scared of Henry I suppose I should say he personally attacked me in Chris's PM too.
There is a reason he is not a member of this board anymore. To bad he didn't have the guts to send that pm to me.

Those are some pretty hardcore statements he directed towards you Chris. Anyone who acts like that must be hiding something........

 

John C is a great guy and gladiator for our Buick GS cars.

Everyone needs to get their noses out of his business because it's his business not anyone elses.

 

Bottom line is John is a well know, stand-up guy and valued asset to the Buick community. His explanation makes perfectly good sense. Same goes for Henry, a real stand-up guy.

Let's cut the crap. I started this thread and will delete it if we continue to act in a juvenile manner. The Buick community has enough negative forces to deal with from the outside, let's not self destruct.

 

I think the guys clutch is slipping big time, I'm 39 but he calls me punk, I have a gun rack in my pick up, I'm 255lbs and have a very hot head but the redness in my neck is starting to fade as I get oldero No: But my love for buicks is has big as it comes. Chris
