I was wondering the same thing.

maybe it is E-bays way of hiding the bidder's IDs?

My guess is that it will hit $180,000.00

I believe items over a certain amount will have the bidders ID's masked so other watchers cant contact them to sell them something else or to possibly scare them off of this item.

I bought a car a few years back and after I won it... in the last 30 seconds... was emailed by another bidder who's max bid was $200, (I won it for $1200) and he called me just about every name in the book for bidding at the last minute and winning.
I got a second email from him that said he was "going to get me" and I got a 3rd email that said he knew where I lived...

I had is real email address from these emails, and the domain of it told me exactly what company he worked for. for example bobsmith@Business123.com. From the email header information I could see the servers where the email went through and by looking at the location of the originating one I searched the yellow pages and found the company name. I called it just to see and asked for him by name and the person who answered the phone said "just one minute Ill get him". I hung up cause I didnt really want to talk to him anyway.

I was also quick to report his userID and location to ebay and he is no longer a registered user.

Thats why the bidder ID's are hidden on such items.

I watched this one all the way. Didn't it bid up to $143,000 the first time it was on E-bay. I know it has been posted for sale for over a year at $250,000 Then it sells now for 81 and change. Someone got a good deal. I'm still scratching my head on how this saga of the "last GSX 4 speed" finally played out. :Do No:

We're at the beginning of an overdue market correction.

I'm looking to buy a "market corrected" 70 GS 455 convertible if anyone knows of one!

If you're selling you may want to sit on the sidelines for a couple of years (my prediction), and if you're buying I think patience will pay off during the next couple of years.

I am trying to be patient in looking for a 70 convertible!

The car was a non-stage 1 car! A non-stage 1 car no matter the options or build date is not going to bring anywhere near what a stage 1 GSX is going to. Period.

It is almost a good time to buy. The economy is slowly getting worse.

The prime time to buy will be next year.

The only folks who will pay 6 figures are the super rich.

Yes $143,000. sounds right and that was too high for a non stage car. $81,400. is not enough. Makes me think it is not really sold yet. Could have a friend in another state bidding it up. If it does not bring enough owner can keep car. Both friends give each other a positive ebay rating. Owner later says bidder did not come through with the money and trys to sell later. I could be wrong. So John, did the new owner pick up his car yet? Pat

Farmer!boy, on the flip side of the coin. We have never seen a big dollar GS or GSX sell on e-bay yet to date, they have been push up to reserve by false biders that know the reserve but NEVER buy. You here about private sales that get the big $$$$#'s but it's hard to believe that the BIG $$$#'s have happen when you see the non sales on e-bay. But I do under stand that rich back room buyer's pay more for these cars then they are worth because they treat them like there stock investments/ego, the hemi cars are a fine example ie: all the selling back and forth beteen buddies to drive the price up on a car so they can auction it off at Barrett's auction's and share the wealth. Sorry guy's I drive them because I love them, my dad got me into when I was very young, back then no one else cared about them. Thanks Dad. Now it just seems like its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$Cheque is in the mail....Chris

There were no false bidders on this auction of mine or any others that I do. After the auction, I found out that a man I know and have done several deals with over the last 5 years ended up high bidder. We have talked back and forth since then and he told me he was bidding on it never expecting it to go so cheap and ended up with it for that low price because no one else was bidding on it. Timing is everything as we all well know. He told me there are no hard feelings from his end if I choose not to go through with it since we both know that this car should be worth 125K even in today's market. So, to answer the question, it is still here and I will probably wait for better days. Why would anyone sell a frame-off numbers matching yellow 4 speed GSX for 81K? That would just kill the value of these cars for everyone else who has one. :Dou:
