I am with you. I am as big a car fanatic as anyone and spend a lot of my free time working and thinking about cars but it is just an added bonus to have one. It does not rank on the same level as family, shelter, food, friendship, or health. There will always be another car and it is just a piece of machinery.

I am very sorry you have to go through this. I got pretty sick myself over the past couple of years and really understand your situation.

I ended up selling my baby (yes it was an 06 mustang but I loved that car) to make sure my family and I would make it through the tough times.

As I know now there is no quick way to get through these health problems so YOU do what YOU think is best for you and your family. We are not in your shoes and we don't fully understand your unique situation.

I wish you the very best and really hope things go well for you and you get what you need out of your car.

As much as it hurts it is just a thing, your health and family will always be more important.

Do you think the market is getting soft so people are trying to cash in? I would love to see it crash:TU: Chris

  8. I think that might be where things are headed.. lots of screamin deals on cars right now and they still don't seem to be selling well.

Would be interested what you think are screaming deals specifically. I've seen a few, but am always interested to see more.

I am doing better, thank you! Was a little discourage to find out my artery could rupture again. Sure don't want to go thru that again! It will be more mportant than ever to keep blood pressure down. One day at a time.

A GSX has been, is, and will be a very desireable car to own. But it seems it's not as hard to own one as I thought as when I got mine. Appears they come up for sale a lot more than I would think. Just a matter of how much you want to pay. I know 4 speeds are more popular, but the automatics are more rare. Rarety has been the one thing that has always got my excitment and interest. Having something no one or almost no one else has. I think to some, this will make a car more desireable and willing to pay more. Wouldn't be suprised if some day automatics will bring more money??? Certainly seems to be a variety of prices out there tho.

I am pretty doubtful that auto equipped cars will ever bring what Manuals will. When people think Musclecar, and thats what these people are thinking when they want one of these Beutys,it is Big Block and a 4 speed, thats what in my opinion constitutes the Classic American Muscle Car,without a 4 Speed they are still very nice cars like yours is, but just do not have the expected Pizzaz...........Goodluck and hope you get all you need for your Beutiful Car.

Didn't a Buick engineer say the Stage 1 455 and the automatic transmission were the perfect match because of the 510ft lbs. of torque?

I can't even watch the auctions to think people have the money to throw around ~ away with no consequence disturbs me.

SXsleeper I sure hope this finds you better... Well & up & about by now.

I know the heath thing all too well. you find out who will stand in your corner when your heath gives out.

As much as I would love to see the market drop out its been flooded & will level off Supply ~ Demand.

The real estate market here has stopped! 3 years ago one place was building 750 new homes a month not they have stopped & all the people who were living fat are now busted.

Yes, I did finally sell it! :TU: But I did so without the tires and shipping and the guy is happy. I had a lot of interest this time around. But, I got real tired of answering questions that went nowhere. By the response I received, I would have to say Vegas helped stir interest. Hope things are on an upswing for all the rest of you!
Anyway, I would like to thank all who supported me while trying to sell and especially for all the best wishes I received!!! I am doing better, but still have my share of problems! I have met a lot of nice guys and have heard of and seen a lot of nice cars while trying to sell! Wish I could have met them all. Some day, if things ever get where my head is above water again, I would still like to get another Buick. I'll always be looking.

    Thanks again, :beers2: :TU:

Just a thought, but if the car has value, couldn't you take out a loan against it to get some cash, and then pay off the loan?

See if you can sell it to a relative or really trusted friend who will sell it back to you at an agreed upon price, or at least hold it for collateral.

Once it's gone, most likely you'll begin the remorse game and that's stressful in itself.

Good luck, and like a friend of mine always tells me, "20 years from now this won't seem like such a big deal".

Youe health and your family and your friends are far more important than a car.

Totally agree with Alan. I'm sorry you face this tough decision Dale, but more importantly, I'm sorry you are facing any health issues.

Sooner or later, we will ALL be making this decision. Whether we sell or hand down to someone in the family, we will have to part ways with our Buicks. We're all behind you.
