Why would anyone be so stupid to do something like that?!!!! He basically took a car that was worth a relative amount and reduced it to a fraction.Yeah ,he wanted it to go fast,so he put in a Chevy small block, but if he wanted to go faster he should've kept the Buick! I myself have spent a considerable amount of money keeping my Buick GS all Buick. Yes I know I've got a Stage 1,but if I went the chevy route, you know how much less my GS would be worth? Much less.

Shame on you!!! :spank: :spank: :spank: :Dou:

And here's the respect that chevy powered Buick gets from me: :moonu:

If you wanted to go chevy power, you should've bought a Chevelle.

I hope somebody with a Buick teaches this guy that a BBB is the way to go. If he wanted to drop a chevy 400 in it, he should of gotten a Monte Carlo

There's a few things that chap my butt.......like when someone stands a car on the radiator to make it look fast, maybe puts wide tires on the rear and skinny ones on the front (stock motor), some jerks even put stickers all over the place thinking they'll make it go faster.........

But the one thing I hate the most.........absolutely HATE the most......is when some ignorant jerk *ff puts a chivvy into a Buick and brags about how much "better" it is as if to say buick motors are slow and unreliable.... :af:

And it almost always seems to be a Skylark that gets hacked for the joker to make his stupid point!

If they like chebbies so much, then why don't they just but one? This illustrates to me that the chevy owner acknowleges that chevies are cheap, but his ignorance runs so thick he has to have a Buick to put it in in order to be satisfied. This way he can have his cake and eat it too. :Dou:

I hope somebody in FL or GA with a hard running GS can show this guy what a 455 can do.

    Chevy Motor in Buick.

All I will say at this time. Take a good running GN. Take the motor out and put a Chevy in and brother you better be prepared to spend a lot of money to go as fast as the stock Buick V6. Known a couple people who did it and all went back to V6 turbo. Bernie Steffen

Poor skylark. I like Joe's signature: "If it's chebby powered, it's not a buick".---so true. Without the wing at least it would be a half good looking car!

Why is it that when anyone anywhere puts a Buick motor in anything(say and S-10 as seen on this board) it the absolute coolest thing. But reverse position(Chevy in a Buick) and you get the death penalty ???

I know putting an buick motor in an S-10 is one thing but putting a chevy engine in a true classic buick is something else. Good question though. I don't think this guy is very smart to begin with, he's not meaning to put down buicks but yet he still bashes them? This guy is quite confusing. Putting a 400 chevy motor in it and then saying it's all better than buicks and faster is just BS and not only that but then says he's not putting them down? Doesn't look half bad except for that wing, and if he was going to brag about how much faster his chevy engine is why did he put it in a buick if chevy is so much better? I needed to rant, sorry

There needs to be Buick engine swaps into chevys to restore balance!

The engine is one of the things that makes the Buick different from others. Most non-Buick people don't realize the potential of a 455 and are too eager to rip that "boat anchor" out and put in something that will run. This attitude was prevalent back in the '70s and '80s in the car magazines.

Most swaps like this come across as a cop out, either someone taking the easy way out or having the misconception that the Buick engine isn't worth the trouble.

Any time I see a Buick with a chevy engine it simply does not hold my interest. Over half of what I'm interested in looking at isn't even there! :Do No:

Back in the late '70's/early '80's my brother put a sb chevy with a 6-71 blower in his '67 GTO. Back then I think he did it because he couldn't get an intake or blower pistons for the Poncho. We thought it was cool though because at the time it was different.

I went to visit my brother over Christmas and we talked about the goat which has been in a million pieces for the past 15 yrs or so. In talking about what he might do with it I said whatever you do, I think you should put a Pontiac motor back in it. He asked why and I gave him the standard response about Chevies being like ***holes and being over done but he said he didn't care. He just likes the way a BBC looks. Oh well, maybe I'll buy the car off him some day.

After dinner my brother in-law asked about my car and what kind of motor I was building. I said "a 455" and he said "Buick?" and I said "of course". Then he mumbled something about boat anchors and called it a pig. He used to build some fast chevies out of used junk but now he's just a circle jerker and doesn't even have a street or drag car to run against me so I just walked away.

Sure, I don't like "heart transplants" between marks any more but its the attitudes like my dear brother in-law's and this dork that really make me hate to see chevies in everything.
