I found a pack rat nest under one of my bushes. Saw the mom and one of the babies. Also saw an old rat trap box under the bush which apparently was not effective. I went out to buy an old fashioned rat trap and when I came home I saw this. Nature's rat trap!:TU:
How about a 110 volt extension cord with the wires stripped bare on one end. Run the black wire to a glob of peanut butter and put the white wire about one inch away from the glob. Carefully plug it into a 110 outlet after securing the wires so they don't come together by accident. Best if not used around children or those who do not respect the power of alternating current! Check the peanut butter after hearing crackling sounds or the lights in your house unexpectedly dim for a moment.
You forgot the part about the Frito chip scooped in peanut butter wedged into the trap. That is the key. Works every time.
Ding, ding.....end of round 4. And the winner is: Mr. Rat! Had both the Intruder trap and the Victor set up. Superglued a half peanut on the Intruder. He didn't get the peanut and the trap was sprung but no rat. Victor was still set. Pulling the Intruder out of the game and going with Victor only. Called Intruder yesterday and asked to speak to someone about their rat traps and the lady that answered said "I can help you". Ended up talking to her for 20 minutes....she was really into it....a little scarey. She said they were having some problems with the units and blamed it on them being made in very hot weather and that affected the plastic and the triggering. Said if it takes more than 1/8 in to trigger it's faulty. These are one of the few things still made in US. ou:
http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=219658&highlight=rat+bait I had the same problem last year:TU: I had a trailer in the yard I was loading for a dump run and when I got to the dump two of them ran out:blast: I haven't had a problem since then:3gears:
Aim Victor pedal side to rat approach, but don't have other end near/against wall or rod will hit wall when tripped, hindering operation...rat's wary now, you'll probably have to hook rod closer to edge of catch (hair trigger)...
Mix oatmeal dry with plaster o paris also dry put it in his travel route. He'll be worth a good stiff laugh shortly after he drinks.
... Aren't you the dude who single-handedly engineered how to stuff a big block buick into a Jaguar XJS and run 10's with it ?? I would have thought you'd have built a Infra-Red and laser-beam sensored, Pneumatically activated Rat-Gun that would have sucked him into the chamber on first hint of detection and launched him (Punkin'Chunkin' Style) at least a mile away Im going to check the rodent forum again and see if he posted about last nites escapades
OHH !! you really pissed him off last night, now he's in training. He posted this vid to his facebook page <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cOVgMOsjxxM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Who would of thought that back when this thread began on the 9th that this would be the hottest topic on V8Buick. I check it out early in the morning, during work and when I get home. It will be sad when the rat is dead. This is very entertaining and has some good suggestions. How many rounds will the rat go.
Getting ready for tonight's Friday the 13th bout and smoked salmon is on the menu. Placed a small piece on the Victor trap (Intruder is on the sidelines for tonight's bout). I just heard some chewing in the wall and then the light above the sink went out. That fu$&er, I thought.....chewed the wires! But no, light just decided it's time was up. I will get him...it's just a question of when.:blast:
Hey, I'm trying to entice him......no, I had some left over from a Christmas party in the frig that I wasn't going to eat.........was tossing it out and thought that the cat and the rat might want some......
