I know what yer sayin' but theres something about Cragars ( these are still about 95%+ ) nice. Almost a little correct old school too. The car also came with a set of the 14" rally's but a little less nice. I had a 1971 years ago that had rally's that were 15" and looked a lot like Olds cutlass wheels. What were they??? I know they were OEM as the car came from a gent that never played with it... ws [IMG] [IMG]

Keep me in mind on Buick shows etc. This forum is so huge that I am still getting lost around here! ws

OK... so now for the first tech question... The car has a new(er) hood tach. Is it after market or OEM? Its really slow to respond and reads about 1/2 scale. Like 1800 at 55 mph. Hmmm. Are there dip switches on it? The car was also converted to an HEI distributor. Will that make a difference? The 1000 rpm showing is with the key off... ws [IMG]

Yeah if I remember, they had crescent shaped rectangular holes with SS trim rings and regular center caps. Only ever seen a few sets. ws

Those are the ones I had on my '71! Mine were pewter with trim with 60's T/As, on a burnished cinnamon car with a white interior... no vinyl top... a gentleman's hot rod in the day... Now how the heck do those magnesium paddle shifters work??? ws

    >>Have any pics of your former '71? My former Buick was a '71 Skylark in burnished cinnamon (no vinyl top) with a sandalwood interior - wound up turning it into a GSX clone and added color matching Buick super sport wheels to that one as well.

Ive got one hazy picture by the lake in 1972 of the '71.. Now I have to start digging through old photographs and turn them into pics (digital) I still took lots of pictures back then even, never thinking what the future would hold!. ws

Man! Did I ever have a flashback Chris! Right after speaking (!) yesterday, I was on ebay and the #2 item was a set of those wheels too! So between you, me and the worldwide web, I got spanked here yesterday. I placed BIG 2 ads with lots of pics for parts for sale around midnite, and got up this morning to a PM saying they were pulled since no prices were listed. I mentioned prices starting at one dollar and up. I was told to be more specific; yet a lot of others are warned on the forum and their ads remained. Do I ever get to be one of the chosen ones here? I am on at least 6 other forums from Model T Fords, to mega yachts (I own 2 of them, forums that is!) and never encountered this before. How do you appraise a front fender??? The worst part is, how the heck do you edit a post so that its paragraphed instead of one giant long line like this one, especially with random dialogue in the pics??? Anyway, heres some pics of the new taillights from yesterday. Today, its open and lube all the inside door stuff, locks, remote mirror, etc... ws [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I actually had a spare set of those Buick super sport wheels for a while but sold them off earlier this year as they were taking up too much room in the garage. Try posting an add here on the board as well - once in a blue moon a set does pop up for sale.

I just really liked them back then, but don't need another set now... those Cragars with the 50s on them give that Bad Lad its own look fer sure! ws

Congratulations! Looks great, including the wheels. Nice job! Looks like a good Power Tour car. It ends in WI next year!

Getting replies here is like pulling teeth out of a bearded clam... Had decent response to some stuff for sale that came with the car. but then it seems like I got my Good 'ol Boy membership pulled. What gives?? Ive made quite a few friends both real and virtual from several forums that I belong to and use them quite a bit as a social media.
So I came here for some Buick camaraderie and maybe some answers to some 40 year old nagging questions, and somebody pulled the plug outa my router. Hmmm... I hope its not me! Ive got a thred running about all kinds of stuff in the interiors' page here as well as a bunch of "asked, answered, unresponded" stuff on the for sale parts page.
Im just a man in love with his Buick... Bill in TR

Thanks Sean! I see yours doing the burn out and it reminds me of my 1973 Century GS 455 stage 1. That was a LOADED car and a console delete 4 speed (1 of 16!) but she met her fate; it was an honest to gosh lemon, so it ended up going to the crusher in 1976... Now I hafta dig out some pics! Bill

looking good .. I dont think anyone unplugged your router though

.. just keep chuggin along. My only advice is to not make multiple posts asking the same thing - if no one responds in a day or two then repost in a different section, but asking the same thing in 3 diff. places is frowned upon (not sayin you did .. just sayin)

Not quite the case... I got my peepee spanked for not including prices... how ya supposed to price an OEM 8 track player and a Kleenex dispenser... Wanted offers or input and was zapped for no asking price. Went from there to "Having this" to "Needing that" with little or no input. I was beginning to thing only moderators read this stuff! Bill

The way its supposed to work in the for sale section is - there should be little to no discussion except the sale of the item. If you don't know what to price it at, you can search for older posts, look on Flea-Bay, put a post in the bench like "Whats a 70-72 tissue dispenser worth with un-blown hankies?" etc.

.. thats all, no worries - your thread got bounced because it didn't have pricing which is one of the commandments to have in a for sail thread.
